Hi, when did you move over and how if I may ask? I'm trying to but are locked out via the control panel since it's inside 5 days of the end of the month? You a new client?

I already have an Afrihost account, I just logged into the control panel this morning and added an uncapped package.

We found out on Friday how the IS uncapped systems differentiate.
It is now possible for an IS resellers to change the shaping and speed for any of their clients 'on the fly'.
We have currently decided not to resell this product as we believe it should be the Tier 1 provider's responsibility to provide a best case service 24/7. Therefore, we will continue to sell the IS Uncapped Basic shaped product which seems to be giving amazing results so far.

So I would say to hold on a little as their service will improve as their algorythms improve - to give you the best service for the best price to them continues. Im sure they will do it and do it well.

Thanks ... hopefully it will improve.

Oh .. and I'm willing to test out any free accounts for a couple of days if you have any :whistling:

This morning.

Never tested lower than 2mb down ( But that might be because I don't torrent, and they did say that torrenting will lead to throttling ( or more agressive shaping, can't remember ) )

Get a rapidshare account if you want to abuse it, but even then I never pulled more than 100gb's on my axxess express account.

Edit://

- to Europe
- To the US

My WoW latency ( With the pat nagle registry fix ) is around 200-400, never more than 500 or so.

So far, loving this account, thank you Afrihost!

Well if aggressive throttling means I can't even get to some pages on the first try,. I'm definitely cancelling - the Free Mweb account is WAY outperforming this account (and I think its only 384 account)

Aggressive throttling is probably excessive, but probably justified ( though I can't pretend to know how much traffic you've used this month ).

And @Killa - No, I don't seem to be able to, I can resolve it though.

I used my full bandwidth on the 10GB package -then bought 4 more GB - then when that was up I moved to uncapped on the 24th. Just checking now - it says I've used 24GB since then, including almost 3GB today???? WTF - I've downloaded absolutely nothing today, and my last download finished at 11:45pm last night, I only came to the PC at 11:30am - checked email, came here, went on facebook - then left and found food.

Even logging into the Afrihost website has taken well over 5min.

I suspect somethings up with my account:

Do a tracert to saix.net and see where the hops go?

Tracing route to saix.net [196.25.1.200]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

Code:
  1 <1 ms * <1 ms Server[192.168.137.1]
  2 * * * Request timed out.
  3 10 ms 10 ms 10 ms cdsl1-rba-vl2253.ip.isnet.net [196.38.73.181]
  4 9 ms 9 ms 8 ms cdsl1-rba-vl150.ip.isnet.net [196.38.73.17]
  5 11 ms 9 ms 10 ms core5a-rba-gi0-0-0.ip.isnet.net [196.26.0.42]
  6 9 ms 11 ms 12 ms 196.26.0.10
  7 11 ms 9 ms 9 ms rrba-ip-spe-2-wan.telkom-ipnet.co.za [196.25.127
.181]
  8 10 ms 10 ms 10 ms 196.43.25.137
  9 31 ms 31 ms 30 ms wblv-ip-essr-1-atm-2-0-0-2.telkom-ipnet.co.za [1
96.43.11.30]
 10 33 ms 31 ms 31 ms wblv-ip-www-1.saix.net [196.25.1.200]

Is mine - 30ms is not great, ( used to get 25ish ) but it's hardly a difference.
