Afrihost Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Well when it comes to straight pings if its also on IS there shouldnt be much difference. I found the mai difference was how long it took to reach speeds on speedtest.net and youtube streaming.

It fees quicker than my express+

I hope you guys realize that will tell you zip about shaping policy. These speedtest servers are right at the top of the shaping exclusion list :D This will tell you your linespeed and how much contention there are on the line, not much more.
 
so far so good... doesn't look like much shaping during day time well it could also be that this service is still too new.
 
I'm watching some Honda VFR1200 videos on Youtube at the moment. So far so good indeed.

Edit: HD videos are buffering after a while, not that good after all.

hey - I cancelled Afrihost to go to MWEB and am getting great speeds internationally (3.6Mbps from London). How fast is Afrihost?
All this uncapped competition is giving me goosebumps :)

It seem in early days AH is performing well!!
will sign up 2mrw!! (like 12 2nyt :D) make use of prorata and finish the cap I paid 4 :D
 
I'm wondering about IS's durban network atm....

I'm not getting such great speeds on torrents.....
 
guys, i'm just about to sign up with mweb, i won a discount of R299 on my 4mb uncapped...
now afrihost has uncapped at R497!

i havent signed yet and i would like to know how Afrihost is going ?

Buffering but watchable indeed. I'm watching the HD version at 720p, so you might wanna expand that video out.
 
Yeah, just watched it now, not too bad. Resuming the Steam download now and off to Technet to grab a few ISO's :D
 
Ok, I retract my statement.. it was my dodgy torrent client...

reinstalled it and its average 280kb/s now.... much much better :D
 
Is it pro rata till end of month? I have quite a bit left on my account and will not need to upgrade till next week.
