So after my previous post Afrihost Web Hosting Useless regarding how useless their support was, I began the transition to MWeb.

Now comes the next hurdle. All I want to do is transfer the domain to MWeb. Well, this seems more difficult than originally anticipated. As Afihost use the EPP system and MWeb still uses the legacy system (whatever this means), MWeb don't have the ability to transfer the domain to them unless Afrihost make it a legacy domain. I logged this call to Afrihost 48 hours ago. No reply to date.

Afrihost, please can I have my domain back so I can transfer it to MWeb? Thank you!

The transition from Legacy to EPP is a Uniforum(COZA) requirement. It makes transfers easier for them to track and effect, and all the major hosting companies are now working with it. COZA have said that they will not allow transfers from EPP back onto legacy, as they plan to phase out the legacy system completely. The options for you now would be to delete the domain completely and re-register the domain with your new provider, but this will involve downtime as this process takes place for of a minimum of 5 days. Alternatively you can park the domain with us and we can point this to your new host until they are EPP registered and accredited,and able to receive the transfer. Do note that without accreditation, hosting companies will not be able to register and transfer domains once legacy is entirely phased out by COZA.
