Afrihost , what a joke

Man I wish I could get a refund for this month , I had decent'ish internet for about 10 days this month, Im pretty sure there should be a law against a lack of service like this.

A friend of mine also suggested Plugg. But I'm going to miss only playing R299 for my AH 4mg account.
So, I'll try each ISP for a month. Anyone else up for some ISP Crawling. We'll end up in the Telkom corner last (just because they tend to keep billing after the service has ended)

Thanks for your report.

I must say you definitely have a clear in depth understanding of the current situation regarding Afrihost and Telkom.

We are glad to say we now have the network under control and running 100% to specification and should be delivering a superior performance for the majority of users.

Where we find Telkom has a congested exchange we are pushing to get them to upgrade but this takes time and motivation.

Please let me know if you have not gotten anywhere regarding these issues as I will gladly assist where I can.

I just got a trial account from plugg at work... speed test running at 5.8MBS, on 10 meg line (exchange only supports 7meg)

i tried the 7 day mweb thing and im impressed so far but i cant seem to find out if i must take a 6 month contract or if i can cancel at any time could some one please enlighten me

You can take a month to month contract then you just have to give them 30 days notice when you cancel. You could use that 6 month contract where you get two months free but then you'll have to stay with them for at least 6 months.

BUT its a good deal since you getting 2 months free... And MWEB has always been decent in the time I have used them.

I was thinking of going for the 6 month contract but after I got my trial account I decided against MWEB all together. But sure, if MWEB lived up to my expectations I would have gone for it with no problems.
