Yep, when you cancel, choose 30-04-10 as the date. Your client zone will then display 'Cancellation Pending' until then.
but also email them to double-check.

Yes, I cancelled as well. Up til 30 gig no issue, all running very well, but after that it is slower than a dailup.
Moving over to Openweb on the 20th. They have a 100gig unshapped account that I have tested (Thanks mrBEEP).

Well it depends on your usage. I'm below 30GB usage for the month and have no issues either. The people that are leaving most likely are experiencing some form of throttling and/or shaping due to their usage amounts [ie. using 30GB in 1 week].
So i've not cancelled [yet] , but will see what the end of the month brings when i get close to the 30GB threshhold . My main concern is how Afrihost don't offer a way to "reset" the throttle until the next month. If i for some reason had to download 30GB beginning of the month and then return to"normal" usage for the rest, i will be STUCK with a crap connection for the entire month.

Cool, thanks for the response. Yeah, I use max about 6 or 7 GB a month and have no issues. But anyway I think the throttling issue will be solved by Afrihost soon, it's still very early days for uncapped. So guess I will stay with Afrihost

still trying to decide between mweb and openweb
You are correct on many fronts, however, I have only done 2Gb this month with Afrihost, yet during the day..well I promise you if I walked from here to London and collected the data and walked back it would go quicker...
Thus, I moved to MWeb. I certainly do not expect 400k/s during the day, but seriously 1k/s is unacceptable.

Well then you will most likely never have any issues, but with usage that low, an uncapped account is not really worth it either. So it's ironic, on one end they tell us "it's not for heavy downloading" but on the other end they're saying "if you use below 17GB [on a 4MB line], capped is better and cheaper" . So uncapped is actually for a very specific amount of usage [15GB-40GB] where it suits both the ISP and your pocket. If you use less, you are wasting money, if you use more then the ISP lose money.
So simply put if you're not using between 15 - 40 GB, uncapped is not for you.
