ha ha ha, according to AH they were having a pow wow with IS today to discuss the throttling thing and what they can do to resolve it asap. That's all that I was told this morning. I'm pretty much going with MWEB month after next, I believe in giving AH another chance/month so will see what happens.
Hmmm... So are AH saying that the throttling is coming down from IS? I doubt this as the other IS resellers don't seem to have this issue.
The more likely explanation is that AH underestimated the amount of bandwidth they'd need, didn't buy enough of it, are oversubscribed as a result and have had to apply the brakes as hard as they can as all their bandwidth got b*tch-slapped by a GB-starved public.
I'd take Afrihosts excuses with a pitch of salt, they've used just about every excuse they can think of...
yea you are probably right that they didn't buy enough. I wouldn't know. Like you fellas here i'm also with them and considering changing. I emailed them this morning and got a reply. I asked about the throttling and was lucky enough to get a phone call to confirm that it was true that they do throttle. In a follow up email they said that they're having a meeting with IS. I can only assume that they didn't buy enough and are now k@king themselves....
True, but then again, the R29/GB AH deal is also a 'special'. And if the Axxess price goes up - you can just move to the then cheapest option.
Tell us more? as in, how much?![]()
Yes, but Afrihost have a very specific clause
Yes, I cancelled as well. Up til 30 gig no issue, all running very well, but after that it is slower than a dailup.
Moving over to Openweb on the 20th. They have a 100gig unshapped account that I have tested (Thanks mrBEEP).
It will suite my needs and my pocket![]()
