Will probably do it this weekend - sad - was an good ambassodor but cannot lie to my friends the service stinks have done just over 7gig and some of my torrents stand still - by jove it is only the 15th of the month?

Signing up with mweb tomorrow so I only pay for half the month. As soon as I confirm it works I'll do the cancellation on afrihost site.

And if anyone from afrihost actually reads this..... unlike most people here I actually don't care about the throttling and what not as I'm not aiming to backup the whole internet. Even if I can only do 15GB on my 384k line, for the price its massively cheaper than what we had 2 month ago. I have used about 5GB for April, I'm happy that I can pay a flat rate and not have to monitor my usage.

I read the forums, I see the million questions and the absolute silence from afrihost and that's a rather pathetic display from a company that was seen as a formidable force of transformation in the market barely 2 months ago. And THAT is why I'm cancelling.

done and done, with Mwebnetski now, better the devil you know.....

Cancelled. Moving over to Mweb next month. Going to use my capped service till the end of this month.

cancelled, refunded / MWEB - Somewhat satisfied – average throughput, however billing, client service, advanced technical support and access to information (contention ratios, times of shaping, protocols, etc.) nonexistent

Canceled 4mbps uncapped and moved to MWEB on Tuesday. Major improvement!

Canceled too....moved to axxess lite, works just as good.

You say just as good ? or as bad

I cancelled my Afrihost uncapped within one day of getting it .anyway still have the capped Afrihost but with the lack of service, and kept holding calls to the centre costing me R20 a time on a telkom line and still not getting any joy out of these boons , well hell yeah I want to move on.

So this Axxess light is it any better ?? The price seems to be ??

Will be cancelling in the next few days as well, my capped package speeds are a joke. Will try out the 10GB axxess lite starting May.

But it does not seem to be just uncapped alot (me included) are experiencing very bad throttle on our 5gig packages

We are thinking of moving over to somewhere else.

Just sad when AH came onboard Gian was all over it this thread is no 6 pages long and still not even one word.

Cancelled yesterday and still considering alternatives. I haven't even reached their moving threshold yet, and I've been having speed and latency problems. Loaded another account on the same line and it was fine.

Yes, I cancelled as well. Up til 30 gig no issue, all running very well, but after that it is slower than a dailup.
Moving over to Openweb on the 20th. They have a 100gig unshapped account that I have tested (Thanks mrBEEP).
It will suite my needs and my pocket :)

I'm trying to cancel and get a refund, but the bunch of idiots on the helpdesk don't have a clue. Just when I think I'm making progress, I get a response from a new random person explaining the obvious. You say you've tested the Openweb 100GB account? So have I and I was not impressed. Torrents are VERY slow. Did you test that or maybe you're not worried bout that.

unfortunately the capped accounts didn't carry a refund as well.

Cancelling today. 15G cutoff was the last straw for me (I might as well have bought 1Gx15) - absolutely mindless - hats off to whoever dreamed that one up at Afrihost.
