AI-powered software can detect when you are texting and driving

Systems that can do this has been in the research circles for months now.
 
How hard can this be? Most phones have accelerometers and GPS. It surely doesn't take much of an algorithm to figure out when you're moving faster than you can walk and typing slower than usual.

Edit: ok after actually having read the article :p it would seem that it's the cars AI that figures it out by watching you with cameras. Still think it'd be easier if your phone told the car when you were typing.

Hopefully it can tell the difference between a cooldrink and a phone, otherwise roadtrips are going to be a b*tch dehydrated.
