Yeah, it's nice if your area doesn't end up having mid to high 20 degree temps overnight during summer time, making sleep like a drowning in a pool in your bed...

My place doesn't currently have any aircon in the bedroom (only the living room), in summer I just have a fan blowing on me at night.

We run the heating function for the baby room to ensure its warm all night during winter

I'm currently looking for a 9000BTU aircon for a small bedroom. I'm intrigued by the Midway Breezeless and Samsung Wind free, as it looks like this would cool the room without blowing you in the face with freezing air.

Are they both as good as each other in terms of consistent and pleasant sounding noise?

The room is very small so I'm not concerned about the performance, I'm mainly concerned with a good noise quality while sleeping with no whooshes of air or rattling parts.

By and large simply going inverter solves all this anyway both in cold air output and noise.

So as long as you pay the extra for that the brand shouldn’t matter much.

assume you mean midea breezeless, bought 1 loved it bought 4 and all working beautifully a year a later.

on a side note it has worked beautifully in our nursery with our newborn from 6 week till 5 months to date. We believe its helped alot with the stright sleeping through the night nice and quiet and maintaining the temp with zero issues also ULTRA efficient

Can confirm a similar experience. I Sleep in a small room with two very large dogs. Got it because it gets very hot with the 3 bodies in a small room.

It does not create a draft and its fan noise is extremely quiet. The only noise it makes is the occasional click of plastic due to temperature changes. But that has got less over time.
 
I concur with both Snyper & Sapphiron - have two Midea Breezeless Invertor units, 9000btu in the bedroom and 12000 in the lounge both have been an absolute pleasure to run, very efficient and quiet.

I went with the AC Direct installation and was very impressed by their professionalism and neat install.
 
So I am about to jump on the air con bandwagon and looking for some advice! Should I go 9000BTU or 12000BTU? I am looking at the Samsung AR3000 or AR4500 inverter units.

The room is 17.5 squares (also ensuite bathroom, but would leave that door closed), probably a little less if I include the cupboards, not sure if that should factor in? The room also has a 2.0x1.8m north facing window. I would run it during the day when the sun is out especially when sleeping during the day as I work some night shifts, otherwise just night time use. I also have a flat roof, not sure if that factors in too.

Have to make a decision on 3 new AC units soon. Anyone know which ones have good Home Assistant integration?

Definitely 12000btu and last time I checked, the AR3000 range is non-inverter only with the inverter options coming in on the AR4500 range upward.. This was the case when I bought my AR4500's a few years ago..

Just spotted that now! Mixed up the adverts I was looking at.

I definitely want inverter so I guess the 12000 BTU is the way to go if it isn't overkill. Cant find the AR4500 9000 BTU for a decent price.

The north facing windows and use during the day is what pushes you into 12000btu territory, so not overkill..

I have an LG wifi guy that works pretty well with the stock HASS integration. Cloud based API obviously with LG SmartThings, but the integration is well maintained.

Thanks! I'll definitely need something that works with a local only api too.
