That's just the purchase price. Not sure about installation. Im assuming it shouldnt run me more than R2k or so? It is back to back.
 
So finally made a dissition. I went with the 9000 Btu Alliance Emerald R32 Inverter. Deposito paid, installation will mostlikly happen within the next 2 weeks as the installers are super busy apparently.

Nah, haven't made a decision yet. @Snyper564 and someone else have the breezless, they rate them.

The breezeless have a much better power rating than the extreme so even if you never use it "the breezeless function" they are supremely efficient and worth every cent.

It seems that Mitsubishi a/c's are now available in SA.

Mitsubishis tend to go head to head with Daikin.

After our first purchase, the wife wants nothing else and I tend to agree.

That breezless function in the bedroom is amazing. Room is kept nice and cool you feel no wind on you, not a breath. Also integrates pretty nicely into HA for the automation people.

Which intergration did you use for HA?
 
Just put a Daikni Perfecta 9000btu in the bedroom. Keeping the room at 19c degrees all night, bedroom and bathroom door a bit open for the cat to come in and out.
Its so silly efficient and quiet, it uses less power than my NAS.

I have a 12k BTU Midea AC installed in our living room/dining room area but I feel that it's not operating at it's peak efficiency.

We have a 12k BTU portable AC unit here at the office and the air coming out from there when set to the lowest it will go (17 degrees) is much cooler than the one at our house. The AC at home is around two years old, and I haven't had any issues with it thus far - it just feels like it's never really operated as it should. The outdoor unit is free from debris and dust, and relatively clean. The indoor unit also has the filter cleaned every three or so months.

Could an incorrect refrigerant charge cause this? My guess being yes but I am not really clued up with these things.

What's the area of your living/dining room and does it have any wide open spaces leading to other areas of the house..? Any large windows and or doors that get direct sunlight..?

Around 25sqm...all open plan and a passage leading to the rest of the house. North facing home but normal sized windows with blinds and curtains that I keep closed during the day.

The outdoor unit sits on the south side of the house under the eaves so it doesn't get any sunlight.
