Wasn't deteriorating health his main reason for leaving Vodacom, is being CEO of Cell C considerably less stressful than being the CEO of Vodacom?

Not at this stage :) I think it is a challenging market - not easy to do battle with Vodacom and MTN...and then you also have to factor in the new maverick operator 8ta.

I think it would be far more stressful. Remember at VC he had his own team that he promoted/headhunted over the years and that VC/MTN were/are the dominant market forces. In comparison to VC/MTN, Cell C and 8ta are irritating little wannabes.
 
Ive had a couple braais with this man, know him personally thanks to my family connections. i can tell you one thing- thats a powerful, enigmatic individual right there, never ever discredit him for a comeback.
 
Are we going to have to endure an article about this d00s every single day now?
I liked it better when we didn't hear about him at all.

I think you will find it difficult to find a better man to take over at Cell C. He has an in-depth knowledge of the local cellular industry, has excellent contacts around the world and knows exactly how the local mobile environment works.

An interesting question will be whether we will see Bharti investing in Cell C ;)
