Google has released the first beta build of the next version of its mobile operating system – Android 10.

Also called Android Q, it is currently only available in beta to Google Pixel users.

To add those few features and call it a new version really makes me wonder. Sounds more like something that should be 9.1 if you ask me.

Otherwise, Halle-freaking-lujah on system wide dark mode. How they can call dark mode on near-stock Pie is beyond me. It's more like selective dark mode.

Yea its undeniable that IOS has always been ahead in security department. We should be happy to see some catch up for Android even though there's still a long way to go especially since it's open source.

Erm no? Android is just as "secure" as iOS, not even sure how you'd actually ever be able to say that.

The problem is more along the lines of OEM implementations and that cheaper, budget devices don't receive as good support.

You can say the same of Windows and MacOS or Windows and Linux.

Yes IOS is more secure than android and I'm glad you stated some of the reasons yourself. Even high end android smartphones do not receive timely security updates except for Pixel phones . I dont own an iPhone because of high unreasonable price vs specs but I envy IOS support.

Which permutation of Android are you talking about? There are many. Even the Pixel devices are a particular flavour by Google.

My OnePlus 6 has amazing firmware. I'm looking forward to getting a OnePlus 7.

Everything from Android Pie and onwards will be s**t. Google dropped Samsung, turning their devices into useless bricks. I am also now looking at replacing my new Note 9 device with a Xiomi.

I am currently running Pie though and it's great.

If you care about firmware quality and snappy updates, don't buy a Samsung. Or a Huawei. Or even Xiaomi. Get something clean and fast like OnePlus's OxygenOS.

Probably true. I am just looking for a device that has native call recording features built in, that is not affected by Pie, where it was decided to remove it in total.

You are right, but maybe he can still buy Xiaomi device that is part of android one program. Anything stock or near stock android usually runs snappy.

The regular Indian firmware for OnePlus devices in India has call recording built into the Phone app.
