All things Shelly

 Agreed,

We are contemplating either using a R5 coin, or a Kruger Silver rand or an Orea cookie for form factor comparison.

But thanks for the observation.

@ld13, we'd like to offer you a takealot voucher, to the value of a Shelly 1 or DUO bulb, in appreciation of your comments.

For my money, I would suggest a legit R5 coin - something almost everyone can relate to, as no one can afford a Kruger (even Silver) rand and some not even Oreo cookies (or simply don't like them). Everyone knows the size of a R5 coin.

Do you guys plan on bringing in the Shelly plug?
Yip,

Shelly plugs are type C configuration, most power tools in SA being Type F, which is compatible with C.

Albeit, 95 % of plugs and appliances are Type N.

Shelly plugs have Texas Instruments CC3200 Processor (CPU) built in, for accuracy.

Looks very interesting - I've installed Fibaro in a few client's houses and was thinking of trying out Sonoff next

This throws a spanner in the works

From my experience, Shelly is definetely better quality. I haven't had one issue with the two I've got running - whereas I've replaced, or had problems with, a few Sonoffs.

We offer site assistance.

Shelly's H+T, flood and smoke are great additions to kitting out a smart home overhaul.
The new Shelly Door/window (with built in Lux sensor) is intended for intrusion alert but can also trigger front door passage lights as a home owner arrives home at night.

You are welcome to send us a mail with home floor plans, happy to help with what Shelly to go where.

Is there anything to make a "dumb" fan smart?
Controlling speed etc

100% this as well.. The Shelly's have been running flawlessly... the Sonoffs have hiccups relatively regularly.

@ShellySA - the H&T would also be great if you bringing stuff in - also, if you guys did bundled pricing like overseas it would help... this process gets expensive.

I know you can with Sonoff - I wonder if a dimmer module would work? (I've also got a fan I intend to get round to)

@xrapidx You've just reveled our next product launch.

Shelly Dimmer is one of the most versatile switches in our product itinerary.
Shelly "ceiling controller" will be a switch for fans with dimming for the light :D by adjusting speed with regulator.

Bear in mind that there will not be an RF remote like other OEM offer with ceiling fan controllers, but will operate from the wall switch, shelly cloud app + google home + voice assistant and local control (MQTT) such as Home assistant.

Most ceiling fans 60 - 150W motors - Dimmer Max. load 200W

@ShellySA are there options for a 3 gang switch or would 1 have to buy 3 x Shelly 1's?

Also @ShellySA why am I the only one on this thread not being appreciated??

@xrapidx in appreciation for your tech knowledge, please pm @ShellySA as we'd like to give you a takealot voucher, hopefully towards a Dimmer/ceiling fan unit.

Appreciated - the dimmer was going to be my next "project" - we have mostly dimmer switches throughout the house.

All good, and thanks again for your input.
It goes along way to educate users about the capabilities of Shelly.

We have on employee permanently on this forum, so your advice and input is much appreciated.

Could you sent a mail to [email protected]? Will reply with the voucher.
