All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Lower will always lead to greater longevity, but you need to decide what you want from your batteries. If you're not charging from grid, chances are you'll very rarely be at 1C.

Understand, thanks for all the advice!

I'm currently down to two batteries so I'm having to rely on the grid more. But I've set my DC charge to 80amps. And discharge to 100amps. No issues so far. I may be adding more panels next week, east facing to catch more morning sun. Will allow me the charge the batteries earlier, or switch on geyser earlier.
 
You can change settings from the app too

I see my solarman smart app is allowing me to change settings, even though I haven't requested any additional access.

I'll give he Deye app a try as well. I like solarman business.

Do you not need a Deye specific dongle to use the Deye app or does it work with Solarman dongle?

It works with the solarman dongle. You simply download the app / browse to the site and login with the same credentials
 
So it seems to me there's a ton of confusion around Neutral-Earth bonding in Sunsynk systems.
Let's hear your opinions - do you have some sort of permanent on-site bonding happening? Do you have an Earth-Neutral bond relay in place?
It's even been said that Sunsynk are advocating for permanent E-N bonds in SA. I know it's not a cut and dried subject and depends on each specific environment, which may not be the same across all of our country, but surely it's simpler than it appears with all the confusion out there?

So what do you use and what are your opinions?

No one knows. Some will say SANS says permanent E-N. The SANS I've seen says it must be a contactor. No one can give you a definitive answer based on the current regulations.
 
Installer was at my house yesterday.

Extra Hubble AM-2 added to make it 3 in total and extra 3x 555w Longi added.

The original 1 string of 5x facing NW and 3x facing N, was changed to 3+3 panels facing N and the original 5 facing NW were cut over to their own string, so 2 strings total now.

WELL! Today was a totally clear day and BOY did the system perform at last. At 1pm, production was at 5100w, compared to the previous setups recent peak of 3000w at the same time of day with the same conditions. Plus, 2000w came up 2hrs earlier this morning compared to when all 8 were on 1 string.

I reckon I am going to be very very close to being off grid now, apart from severe rain+cloud days.

SO glad I did this addition/string change.

As a related aside, the system was switched back on last night at 4:40pm. Refused to grid charge - would only take house load from the grid and nothing more. Loadshedding hit at 5pm. I then sat for 3 hours stressing whether the changes had borked something. 8pm arrived and I stood in front of the Sunsynk waiting for AC to return. AC returned and after the normal WAIT SECONDS, grid charge worked. I can only think that the Hubble BMS(s) were taking a while to chill and talk to the 3rd battery which was at a lower SOC than the first 2 and needed time to become friends before they would all charge.

This morning they began charging as soon as excess PV was available and they took a decent chunk of watts at 100% while they balanced themselves. All should be good now.
 
Apologies if I've missed it - is anyone getting weird spikes with the latest version of SA connected to Deye/Hubble.

I initially thought it was just the battery - but - it seems most of the sensors go haywire at times:

Having setup HA with slipx06's flow chart I see that my Non Essential (Aux) is pulling power. There is nothing connected on Aux as everything is on essential so wondering if anybody else has experience something like this.

We have grid atm but running off battery so there should be no draw from grid and/or sending something to non essential:

HA is outside my lane, but generally non-essentials is not the same as Aux.
Non essentials is generally connected ahead of the inverter exactly as the image shows.

Might be yes like you said, but mine is Eskom to inverter, inverter to whole house DB and nothing on AUX so that is why I'm asking the guys that know more. Might just be the CT coil picking up something and thinking its load and just a display thing :X3:

Change your setting to limit to load (SunSynk), zero export to load (deye).

HA could be pulling the wrong field into the view? Is it always the same amount as the essential load? Does it show on other apps?

I had to manually change quite a few fields when setting mine up.
