All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Can anyone assist with this, power tripped AC overload (thanks to the oven being on and the geyser/pool turning on at the same time) - power is back on, but the Inverter normal light is Off - and it doesn't seem to be powering the house.

Had something similar happen on my sunsynk a few days ago but mine was due to a power outage and battery drained to 5%. Restart ease set at 10% but it didn't power the house even after it got to 20%.

They normal light was of and I had to reset the inverter to get it to work again.
 
I tried reseting mine now, no difference. Joy.

I also noticed that the AC Voltage has dropped to 50V since it tripped.

Ive had it happen twice and then I turn the main circuit breakers off (incoming before inverter and output of inverter(main db board), then turn them on and wait a few minutes for the inverter to reset.
I dont know if what ive said definitely works but generally its just a waiting game. Think the inverter intentionally does it to give you time to resolve your load issue. The grid reconnect time might also be affecting it over and above what speedster said.

EDIT: Alternatively follow the shutdown and startup sequences... which i think is what achmatk meant by reset. Something along these lines.

Power on Sequence:
1. Switch on AC
2. Press Start Button
3. Switch on Battery and battery breaker
4. Switch on the DC (PV Isolator)


Shutdown Sequence:
1) Switch off AC
2) Press the start button
3) Switch off the battery and the battery breaker
4) Switch off the DC (PV isolator)
 
Seems to slowly be fixing itself... will have to go outside again to check if the Normal light is back.

EDIT: Normal light is back - hopefully all goo.d

Looking at the logs in home-assistant, to figure out how I got to 12000w usage. Seems the oven, dishwasher, washing machine and office aircon (heater) was on - and then at the same time the pool pump and geyser schedules turned on. Going to have to rework my logic - usually start getting warnings at 10000w on all devices.

No, It is not necessary to reset the inverter. Just give it a few minutes to sync with the grid and it will start supplying power again.
 
I am looking at upgrading my system. Currently have a 5kw kodak inverter with a pylontec 3kwh battery.
Currently have a string of 4 solar pannels. Planning to add another 4 on a different string.
If I get two new 5kw sunsync inverter, can I connect one inverter to a new sunsync battery and the second inverter to a pylontec battery ? or does the two batteries have to be the same ?

If you run them in parallel you'd probably want the same battery across both inverters.

Bigger potential problem is that, depending on panel specs, 4 panels might not be enough to reach start to voltage on the MPPT
 
hi guys, hopefully someone can help, I was on a week's holiday and we returned last night, and it looks like my inverter somehow lost the wifi connection so it appears offline and I can no longer check the stats on my PC

I tried connecting to the wifi dongle on the inverter using the Wifi ID and password, which works, but the next step is to connect to the admin page 10.10.10.1 according to the yutube videos and this doesn't seem to work, is this 10.10.10.1 address correct?

okay I came right, there was another video on youtube, the address for my inverter is 10.10.100.254

I haven't gone down the rabbit hole, but as far as I have picked up, that Sunsynk 10yr inverter warranty extension has a long list of T's and C's relating to exclusions. Make sure paying the premium gor Sunsynk batteries is still worth it.

Only noticed a lots of people had charging issues with Volta stage, software issues, had to have reps come in to update the BMS

I have read some put their grid trickle feed to 0, is there any pros or cons to this?

Currently set to 20w which is why im guessing there is almost constantly 20w on the grid side.

Apparently it keeps the system in sync with Eskom or something, but I believe a few here have set it to zero

I had set mine to 10 or something low but there was a firmware upgrade that forces it to between 100 and 200w - which sucks

That's the Deye inverter hey? Mine is at 20W on the Sunsynk.
