All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

More than a few seconds. My meter is in the street about 50M from my inverter in the garage. I still noticed it, got my gate key inside and went out to the meter and it was spinning backwards. I recorded it for around 20 seconds... Seemed to be doing it the whole time I was exporting to non essentials.

You will see most of us in the show your monthly solar thread have back feed into the grid.

As mentioned the CT clamp has some lag so there are times when it gets it wrong. You can try and adjust the trickle feed value and see if it helps.

This morning I am unable to remotely adjust my SYSTEM MODE battery levels via the web or App. Gives me a Command Send Fail error.

Anyone else seeing something similiar?

Hey y'all, hoping this is a quick easy fix.
Long story short, what's the process to get your batteries back up and running?
Everything shut down due to our stupidity, inverter came back on but it's saying no batteries and the whole battery section is off.
I'm scant on details as I'm hoping it's a general reset we could do but if needed can provide more info.
It's the normal solar, inverter, batteries set up.

Have you tried the activate battery function?

I would follow the shutdown and restart procedure in the sunsynk manual.
And also check your battery manual for start up procedures because some of them have different requirements.
Once the battery section is displaying maybe check your shutdown % and restart %.
If you have your shutdown % right, the inverter stays on but doesn't provide power outside of inverter.
Restart % is how much the battery needs to charge before activating again to be used once shutdown has been hit

Saw something similar posted above.

I love how we are all testing our systems and juggling it all to find the right mix - but man oh man, loadshedding basically makes us mad scientists constantly adjusting for variables!

Wanted to check with you guys on the following:

  • Night time settings (but also applicable to when no / little to no PV available
  • SOC setting on 80%
  • Zero export ticked
  • Grid is up
  • Geyser switches on and ends up drawing from battery
Other than ticking zero export limit to load, there is no option to prevent this right?

Like, it would be great to be able to select an option that says:

If PV and Grid available -> then -> use excess solar to power non-essentials on CT.

If no PV -> then -> do not use battery for non-essentials on CT (regardless of SOC setting on timer).

But I feel like I'm missing something?

I'll try to answer all questions here.
I have not tried the activate battery option.
It looks like the batteries were at 30% when everything went off.

Excuse my ignorance, this things has worked for over a year, never had to touch it or fiddle with it.

Post your shutdown and restart values...

I've noticed that when my batteries are charging, the soc steadily rises but then suddenly goes from 91% to 100%. Any ideas why this happens and any possible solutions to make it not do this?

Sorry, work stuff.

So looks like it was something to do with this - just came on all by itself. I'm not at home right now so can't post values but wife confirmed it's all up and running.
But ja, need to get much closer to what's going on.

As an aside, it's amazing how quickly your family will turn on you when the power goes off.
Granted was probably my fault but dang, even my 6 year old was glaring and it was off for like 5 minutes.

Is it possible your installer already has you on their system? In that case you can ask them to unbind your logger or you can get someone on the Deye support group to initiate that.
How do I get someone on the Deye support group to do this?

Hi,

Not sure if this is the best place to ask this but here goes.

If bought an 8KV Sunsynk inverter with 2 5KV Sunsynk batteries. The inverter comes with a single yellow battery communications cable, and the batteries themselves included no cables.

Where would I be able to source another cable for the second battery? Are these cables proprietary cables or something off the shelf?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

PS looks like those yellow ethernet cables you used to get with your ADSL router.

I dont know the sunsynk batteries super well outside of their basic specs.
But generally you would check the manual to see the pin outs from the battery and the pin outs for the inverter.
Then you create your own cable to match that.
But Im pretty sure with matching branded sunsynk inverters and batteries, you could buy any "straight" ethernet cable and it should function because the ports will match each other.
You only need 1 communications cable which will be to run between the master battery and slave battery.
Then the CAN output of the master battery runs into CAN port of the inverter
