All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

I'm only aware of 12v output. This seemed to me neatest way to do it.
Is there any other output that could be used with pi directly from inverter for future reference?
(I like esp32 idea, might do it for a friend)

When I had a Pi4 I used this USB adapter to power it off a DC UPS.

The inverter has a 12v out so you can power it from there:

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think the installer ever got the batteries to charge up fully, it just went into use.

This looks like its close to finish or just trickling now.

When mine was installed the installer let it charge to 100% from grid and left it until the next day when the panels were connected. Think they need some time at "100%" to ensure they are fully charged and balanced.

Yeah I read the same and I don't recall them doing this. It peaked at just over 54.09V and then started feeding back so I think its alright for now.

Back to work its going now.

Does anyone perhaps know the specs of the internal 12V output on a 8kW deye? Will I be able to drive 4 external fans on that?
 
Apologies, I should have been more specific. I was referring to this link which @xrapidx posted a couple of days ago.

Tried this and it doesn't work for the 8kW, addresses are different.

I don't know if the newer inverters/firmwares are using different addresses because I also couldn't get any of the ESP32 ESPhome configs posted in this PowerForum thread to work on mine https://powerforum.co.za/topic/8646-my-sunsynk-8kw-data-collection-setup/page/3/#comment-124813

A lot of the sensors are unavailable and there's also a 10-120s delay in the values that are able to be read (Tried 3s and 10s updates in ESPHome config). For the batteries, I only get the voltage (Sunsynk app shows SOC and everything else so inverter is able to communicate with the BMS).

I think I'll need to figure out the addresses and write up my own ESPHome config. Anyone know where I can download the modbus address doc?
I have the Sunsynk 8K-SG01LP1 and software versions M 6.0.2.2 / S 1.7.2.4 / C E.4.2.6. Manufacture date is March 2023.

I'm going to spin up HA on a separate NUC to test if kellerzas addon is maybe able to give better results since that's a proven solution. If it works I'm just going to go with the initial plan of running a long cable to my main NUC as it will be quicker than figuring out the addresses.

Also looking into using the ESP32 as a modbus gateway but so far that stuff is currently going over my head :ROFL:

I think the Deye and SunSynk modbus addresses might be different

So shutdown is 20% , warming low bat at 35 but was does restart do? Should it be at that or something much lower assuming it means restart the inverter?

My restart value is 50%

Dunno why installer set it to that

Btw, I saw my arse the other day after I'd set shutdown to 10% - 1 of the 3 batteries ran completely flat - boy did I panic until it came back up

What battery do you have? I've got my Pylontechs set to 10% and they hit that regularly without issue.

Edit: 10% is set in system work mode. Shutdown is 9% which it shouldn't ever hit.

Hubble AM5's - I can only surmise that the battery that ran flat was out somewhat out of sync with the others

So it'll discharge to 20% and then shutdown but will allow use again once it's been charged beyond 35%?

My question is because they could run their battery to like 30% but which kicks in first, shutdown or restart, or restart is only after a shutdown.
 
Hi Guys ,

I have a newly installed 12kw Sunsynk with 2x AM5 batteries. I have the Sunsynk Dongle.

With this setup will I be able to get individual battery information?

Or do I need the RIOT cloud link? Or can solar assistant get the individual battery info?

I just noticed the SOC LEDs on the batteries were not at exactly the same level today.
