All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Thank you for the suggestion; they addressed the electrical problems. It appears that the initial installer failed to include an earth-neutral relay and a surge protector in the installation. Additionally, the cabling and fuses used were inadequate for the recommended specifications. Moreover, the installer connected one of the plug circuits to the geyser, which resulted in the socket lacking proper grounding, causing it to trip the earth leakage when under any load.
 
So I have a 3 phase electricity supply and I was told I should look at the 12kW inverter since it is 3-phase.
That is around R50k for the 12kW, but if I add another R4k I can get the 20kW one. The price difference is "negligible" compared to a 5kW vs 8kW ones.
What are the issues I might face with the 20kW one?
 
The 20kw uses high voltage batteries. So you'll have to compare batteries and see what the HV options are

The actual constraining factor on the inverter is your available off grid power. To really utilize the 12kW/20kW your are going to need sufficient panels to produce that in the day along with enough batteries and sufficient discharge rate.

Instead of going for the overkill it would be better to just manage your consumption

So the inverter itself was fine after all?

I haven't seen many references online, but a 192V battery is basically 4 X 48V batteries in series, with a modified BMS. Probably not many sold, since it's a niche market. See:

No.
By washing, I mean squirting them off with a hosepipe. No brooms / mops / squeegies /soapy water / pressure washer involved, I would rather not damage them.

Should let Sunsynk know, so that they can review the accreditation and see that the guys get training. They have a free training facility in Randburg.

I believe someone got there before me; they're not listed as an accredited installer anymore.

20kw is overkill. The device itself will probably chew a bit of that power. Go with the 12 IMO.
