Allshare with Samsung

Samsung support service SUX big time.... worthless lower grade tech info.....

Sorry to hear man, but have you tried eliminating the PC as a problem? Do you have another PC or a laptop or something?

And no, your PC need not be the main homegroup PC, mine is not ;)

If using allshare, are you sure that the software is allowing the IP for your devices?

Also rather use static IP.Everytime the IP changes then Allshare blocks the device and you have to allow it again.

eftitol,

I have a windows XP pc, that i can connect wireless to the home network to check.

Will that work?

Absynth,

I am on webafrica uncapped so i dont have a static ip adress? Can that be the problem?

I even enabled uPnP on my router.

I will post some screen shots tonight....

i noticed that my pc ip adress changes sometime to 127.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.3. My tv ip is 10.0.0.4 and blu ray 10.0.0.5 and always statys that.....

I have to get this working!

I have connected my LC32D550 to my media PC.

You need to allow the device to connect to your allshare service. Goto tools-settings-priveledge settings

Worked for me.

Give your TV and Blu Ray Player static IPs in the same network range as your PC.

hey man, I too had the duoplus 300 router from telkom and IT DOES NOT WORK WITH ALLSHARE!!

I mean WTF? i plug my dlink router in and instantly picks up the allshare.. I have taken a look into this and i cannot get it working. Please let me know if changing your router helps. Perhaps even try a normal network hub/switch without internet connectivity to test, im fairly sure this will work.

I have tried setting static IP's and turning off DHCP and that makes no difference, the TV gets internet access but just refuses to see allshare via hellkoms rubbish router.

I went through all of these settings for over a month now and i still cannot get it working with that crap router but i havent put any more time on it since my dlink works seemlessly with the exact same settings.

So i just used a normal switch between my pc, tv and blu ray and it worked instantly!!! :)

THE HELLkom rubbish duoplus 300wr router caused all my pain....

NOW to find a decent router that will work?? Any siggestions?

Mad,

Im going to try the following with the hellkom router....

This should theoreticallly work...

Connect a switch to one port of the router with all other pcs, then mediaserver pc, tv and blu ray to the switch. If the last 3 want to connect to each other they sohuld bypass the router and go directly through the switch and i would still have internet accessibility on all???

Sounds feasible?

maybe try it but i tried similar and didnt work but i see your way will be slightly different,

I used my Dlink to dial up to the internet, and control the DHCP, i turned DHCP off and all security that i could find, no QoS on the rubbish duoplus and put it in bridge mode and connected my TV to the dlink, plugged my PC into the duoplus which should now theoretically be like a network switch but still doesnt work, i have given up and just plug my pc straight into the dlink.

EDIT: why do I have it this way? my internet connection is on the one side of my room where the TV is (used to have my PC there but moved room around to make more space) , now the PC's are on the otherside of my room so i use a 15m network cable to connect the 2 routers so my pc's still get internet connectivity.

Will post my results with the method i intend to try :)

Maybe also write a strong worded but coherent letter to Telscum detailing your issue with that lame router.

efitol,

Seriously considering to go leave them an easter turd surprize on their door step to thanks them for the countless swearing and truble they have put me through with their inferior equipment! :)

hahaha, yea i battled for long with it to figure out it was the router , then just no understanding as to why it just doesnt work, id rather not try figure it out, its too much of a head ache. rather just use proper equipment:P

i made it work MAD!!!! I beat the 300wr duoplus like i said with extra switch!
