im leaving mweb now for ayce and hope they are all they say they are.

You don't spend your hard earned money on a service and "Hope" ... this tells me you are also sceptical of their service ... I honestly wish you good luck Killadoob ! It takes a lot to do what you intend doing.

So basically if they say in june we only allowing 20gigs they allow you to cancel as well.

Those are the old terms, they have been removed from the new terms. They where removed because 30Gb is a done deal according to allyoucaneat - nothing in SA telecoms is a done deal at this time.

no i said i hope so because you guys are putting doubt in my mind im more than willing to take my hard earned and spend it on 30 gig of info specially considerings its not to much money like 730 or even 650 like uunet. i will never reach my cap so im basically uncapped lol in way i think but i will tell you guys after april

it wont be worth it when u do after this month it will be 980 which i wouldnt pay

so sign before april or loose out

Slike - by the way, if you want to sign up, and want to use the lower-cost-one-time-only-offer, you have to pay for march.
i.e. Join on the 31st of March, and you have to pay for march and april on your first debit order.
It's the way that they charge : From the 1st (1st - 7th) of the month, irrespecive of when you join.

Key points in the terms and conditions:
- Pay for the entire month you join in. (As above)
- 12 month MIMIMUM.
- if during the 12 months costs go up more than 10%, you may cancel giving written notice, AND, a cancelation is only effective if YOU STOP USING THE SERVICE. i.e. If you keep on using the service, then you have cancelled your cancelation.
* This means - expect a price increase up to 480 * 1.10 = 528 verry soon.
* Be very careful when you cancel on the 10th month. Get all the specifics sorted out.
- no garauntees, even if they cannot provide a service for 2 weeks, tough luck.
- they (AYCE) are bound by what their supplier provides. And so are you.
- they (AYCE) may switch providers at any time for any reason.

{Just fixed my figures in the edit}

That is something that goes for any isp, wisp or any1 providing a service.

I have read all the comments in this topic. <puts on his cynic's hat>
On the surface, AYCE looks brilliant. Further reading show that it could be a bit dodgy from a contractual and offering perspective, leading the user to be 'screwed' with no recourse.

Stoke ... the price increases to R980 in march ... not R528.

I am sure it was meant to mean existing subscribers can expect there max 10% p.a increase soon without the option of cancelling their contract.

even if it goes up 528 thats all it can go up to. 10% and it doesnt go to 980 if you have signed before april is 48 is in the next year really so much to go i dont think so.

580 for 11 months of 30 gigs a give away i tell ya you guys are gonna feel sick in 3 months for not signing and still sitting with your 3 gigs counting the kps where as im gonna be downloading all the time and not watching nothing.

Hi all
Im in Newcastle at a friends place who has AYCE account and im testing the speed and stability. Ive been doing this for the past 3 weeks. He (my friend) applied for the account - got it instantly - and we were up and running.

Im in need of a adsl line at home so i decided to quickly apply for the ADSL line by telkom with the idea of alsdo applying for a AYCE account BUT just yesterday (during a LAN PARTY break) i decided to check the latest on hellkoms website which lead me here. After reading all the complaints of AYCE iv'e really had to think twice here....so if anyone has suggestions on which account to take - please advise

Heres my plan:
1. ADSL line with Telkom
2. Uncapped account with whoever
3. Setup wireless network with neighbours [5 homes @ R350pm] (same property etc etc)
4. SURF SURF SURF

Here in Newcastle ICASA has closed down a few who have tried wireless but they still fail to close down one company running wireless networking (cool when u have contacts in ICASA hey).

Anyways ill be visiting here alot

Congrats to the people who have taken the time, effort and patience to let us the public know what the facts with ADSL.

Shardie
xx

That is why the forum is here, good or bad news. The Public comes first and needs to know what they cant read.

yo CLIPSE i noticed in your sig your promo on NUKECAP - do u work there? if so im interested in the basic package:

HTTP/HTTPS Unlimited International Bandwidth (30:1) 512k
Activation Fee : R200 (once off)
Monthly Fee : R140 (3-month Contract)

BUT what is this (30:1)?

shards

dude think about 30 1 ratio if 20 of those ppl are downloading your bandwidth will be less than 5kbs could be worse. u willing to risk slow connection?

30 to 1 ratio means u share x amount of bandwidth with 30 people did you hear me
30 people thats alot of ppl lol. dont sign up to a company that has a ratio ever u never know what speed your gonna get.

dont sign with uunet because they limit peer to peer networks, which means u basically cant download from all the p2p programs (no wonder they can have uncapped accounts lol where the hell else are ppl gonna download alot of stuff,. sign with mweb or telkom or ayce ppl that you get good speed from and have no ratio's.

just remember ayce 480 runs out 31 of this month (but if you sign on the 30th u still have t pay for this month eheh but tis worth it in 5 months u be smilin

kdoob signin out
