Allyoucaneat Users Opinion needed urgently

Hi all

Im seriously looking @ purchasing AYCE special, Ive read what u guys have written about their false advertising!!

This is a bit disturbing!!

On the other hand R480 for 30gigs of internationa bandwidth really is value for money!

Id really like to hear from anyone who has used AYCE, what do u think of the service compared to telkom??

Also to clarify If u sign up for the special in March it will cost R480 per month for 12 months??!!??!

Someone recently tried to signup with the username [email protected] with incorrect information on the All You Can Eat web site, for example: not his real name, not his real phone number and not his banking details. We found this out when we tried to contact him about his signup. Could this be the same sp00nman?
 
Its your funeral but as far as I'm concerned the way things are going there's a pretty good chance there will be cheaper and better services available before April 2006! Chances are they realize that too – otherwise why would they insist on a 12 month contract?

Remember - once you hit that 30gb total (national, international, uploads and downloads - uploads are important to consider if you're using torrents!) you'll be hitting a brick wall.
 
Steer clear of any internet access with a contract if you can help it.
As bwana indicates, who knows what will happen over the next year.

If the broadband "arena" in this country was more advanced and "mature", sure, sign a contract, but the fact is were in the early phase of broadband adoption and it stands to reason that things should get cheaper fairly quickly because that's what has happened in every other country.

Stick it out with the standard 3gig ADSL offerings for 6 months and see what happens - allyocaneat is certainly trying to hook people in with the March offer, but with thier change around from "unlimited" to 30gig, maybe 2 months down the line that could suddenly become 15gig and then 10gig - it seems "unlimited" is not a term that allyoucaneat understands, so the way I see it, they can change the terms of the contract as and when they wish to.

This is fairly standard practice, but if your in a 12 month contract, it can really screw you over.
 
watch out. read the contract carefully and you will see that as mentioned once that 30GB has been reached, its a brick wall. Rather wait for better more affordable options. If really needing it only use an ISP with a month to month option with the chance of changing or getting out.

I did previously check out AYCE website, but i never filled anything in?!?!?!?!

I concur - there are several unlimited (which are to the best of my knowledge not limited to 30gb) providers out there that offer month-to-month in the R700 range. Lets face it though - IMO - if you sign with AYCE after their introductory special you need to get your head examined by a health care professional.

BTW - I'm not saying that you should sign up before their special ends either!

Well, the fact is, looking at point 9 above, they could break that R480 deal at any time they choose - of course, this would amount to commercial suicide.
 
sp00nman Id say go with a uunet offering, its about R250 more a month than AYCE and its month to month.

Oh ye, and there is really no cap.
 
AYCE - its not about what I use, that doesnt matter here. Im giving people information regarding better options, this is why we have this lovely forum.
 
AYCE - you seem to be confused. There are currently only two real offerings available to us - SAIX & UUNET. I find it surprising that you did not know that they only sell to resellers. If in fact this is the case I would be wary of signing a contract with your company. :confused:

As to the motive behind this snype - are you trying to redirect attention away from your own short commings?
 
dont ever get a contract longer than 6 months

or not one at all. the sayin only time will tell is true to the game.this is life.abit mushy on the quote but .i neally signd up with dotco but lucky my bank account was frosen by feca.basteards.all in all my friend in the phone bussiness told me dissturbin news agout what is goin to happen in the adsl arena concernin the monopoly company.im bound not to say the companys name so do not get that contract
 
clipse, don't understand how you can punt a service that you don't use yourself and that is in competition with your own business.
 
uunet is not in competition with nukecap at all, if you are willing to pay for uunet then go for it, youll get a better service.

My service is for the mid to low income group, who dont have R730 a month to push into an account + ADSL line fees. If someone apply with me, and state they want super fast service I wont push them onto nukecap when I cant offer them that.

Its about Customer satisfaction at the end of the day, and not your wallet.

ps. I never said Im not using nukecap or uunet or saix. What is it to you what Im using? I could be on 56k dialup for all it matters.
