Hi Guys ,

Thought I will share this with u all cos I finally see the funny side of it. Last night I went to Canal Walk to buy me a Xbox-360 , Being a PC Gamer my whole life I finally gave in cos of GTA4 !! Yes, thats the only reason really !! Anyway got to ToysRus and saw that they had 1 pro box with 4 games for R3700 , thought ok great I will take it buuuuut they did not have GTA4 , so I asked them to hold on to the game while I go and check @ CNA or Incredible for the game , found one at Incredible and went back to ToysRUS , when I got there I checked that the Xbox only have ONE controller (I know I'm a noob) , so off to Incredible (past CNA) only to find out they dont have one either , on my way back I got one at CNA !!!! (if only I stopped there the first time !!). So I got to TOYSRUS with my GTA4 from Incredible and my Controller from CNA to get my XBOX , it was 20H50 and the store doors were closing. AND THEN !!!!!! MY EFFING BANK CARD DOES NOT WANT TO WORK !!! FAARRRRRRKKK FN-dingis !! I tried 5 times , the poor lady thought I was crazy , I made them promise me that they will keep the console which I am fetching tonight !! Last nite my wife was laffing at me cos I sat at home with a controller and the GTA4 game but no console !!.....

Hopefully my next post will be on how great the GTA4 game is !!!

PS - I tried all over today and there seems to be a serious lack of consoles currently , the best deal I could get was a pro-xbox with 2 crap games for R3700.
 
I'll stop myself from starting a PC vs XBOX360 war here ;)

I'm just too tired to care ;)

I did the same trip u did last month.
Rather buy from that big CD / music shop, can't remember the name. Has a gaming section at the back on the right. On 1st floor in the middle somewhere.

p.s. I'm having cc issues too (awaiting my Live gold card that only comes next month). So I'm a silver member till then :(

@Canal walk: Look and Listen is in the food court, there's 2 musica's, one by Dischem and one on top above Nino's, you could try there for a deal. Alternatively it looks like kalahari has stock of the plain Pro (with HDMI) for R2999

also cracked and bought myself an xbox just because of GTA!

drove around PE looking for just the console and NOT the bundle with the 4 lame games. went too two reggies, game, toysrus, btgames, musica, cna and phoned around, NOONE had just the console!! Ended up just ordering it off Kalahari.NET.

There surely must be a shortage. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
 
Got it !!

It was well worth te trouble , GTA4 is awesum , taking a break cos my eyes are tearing fron tiredness already. Oh and look and listen also did not have any consoles plus controllers !!! later folks , gonna roam around in Liberty city !!!

Thanks for this. Been looking for the non bundle Pro for about 2 weeks now. Hopefully they'll have stock at the end of the month.

Its in the new catalogue & supposed to be a 4 day sale - valid till 18 may,guess the price is no huge saving but yeah maybe they got stock

Damn:( I missed the about the special. Other [online] stores are selling Pros for R2999 so maybe that'll be the price after the sale (if they even have stock)

Well cant blame you, that is why I bought mine last year....for gears of war!!!!!!!!!!
 
Gothan, I'd put it like this, I'm not a huge fan of the series, but I'm really enjoying 4. It's the only game you could pay R700 for, and feel that it's justified by the single player content alone! Throw in some pretty serious Multiplayer options and you've got a system seller.

I also only got the xbox cause of gears...I dont think GTAIV is anything special, actually a tad boring.

hifi corp have the pro listed on special for R2879.99 (wonder why R2880 doesnt do it for them?)

I dont have GTA4 yet.

I am rationing myself severely as I am having my b-day soon and one of the items is GTA4. I am getting Lost Odyssey in the next 2 days though.
