Thought this should be created to discuss all the alts that exist out there. Is it alt season yet or Bitcoin has not settled enough for the alt season to start? Some are popping up and others are at their lowest. Could it be a question of time before we see altcoins outpace bitcoins recent growth?

I hope so. I have 95% alts and while the btc I recently bought has trippled in value, the alts have relatively stood still. One coin I bought at 1 cent got listed on binance a few weeks ago and went to 4 cents(Fantom) , and I did buy ether at 100$ and monero at 50$, some tron at 2 cents and cardano at 7 cents. But all the rest I hold (Stellar, Litecoin, Funfair and some $hitcoins like electroneum) still have me in a general loss.

Holding crappy coins is risky as those can all but disappear - All morning my phone has been lighting up with altcoins going up more than 2% etc in an hour - a sign that some life is coming to alts. A favourite of mine QTUM has been going up. VeChain has some partnership with Walmart so that spiked up. XRP had the moneygram news weeks back and eyes are on that too. I'm sure we will now start to hear of partnerships that token developers have been holding back due to Bitcoin rally. Even NEO came up on my radar this morning.

Had a few panic sessions the past few weeks trying to access ETH wallets via myetherwallet. Been so long since I accessed I forgot a few passwords, luckily had private keys so didn't have to resort to brute force attempts :X3:.

Guess what I am doing right now?

Thanks for making the (recent) thread @phly . Definitely following closely as the Alts haven't made their run up yet and if history is anything to go by - It has to come right...

Had a lucky buy with a low-cap token called EQL when it was low. They've subsequently got a listing on Binance DEX (which saw a very nice price increase) and are swapping to Binance chain BEP-2. Equal started as an ERC20 airdrop, no ICO (self-funded) and have a working WEB3 wallet with integrate DAPP store etc. Think they're aiming for full integration with Binance DEX too.

Currently de-listed due to active swap.

Oh man, I have had a few of those. Electroneum was the worst as put 10k into that, but have lost thousands to coins I really believed in at one stage like blockv, Aelf, Xyo etc. On the other hand I have never sold them they are just very down.

Also have ETN sitting in a wallet I haven't yet bothered to KYC for. Will need to get round to it eventually. You done the ETN KYC with the Yoti app yet?

Check out Ftm(Fantom) : The Korean eos. Same thing. Project is Dag based and shows massive potential. Currently cooled off to 2.2 cents so still a good buy before main men launches later this year, as I reckon it is going to a buck or five. Andre Cronje, a highly rated crypto saffer, is very involved.

I did it yes. Etn is not entirely dead yet if it could get itself up to some value and give incentive for people to mine it and swop it for airtime etc. But at $0.7 cents a coin who would bother?

I think cash will flow into more established players. QTUM had something with google. That alone has like 13x just to get to the previous high of the last rally. Twitter is shaking with excitement and prospects of gains from alts. Bitcoin is wild. Alts don't need much TA - most people buy and hold and wait for them to go up.

Hi, my name is Hopeful, and I'm an XRP addict.

Have been dabbling with a few others from time to time, but I'm full throttle on the Ripple train.

I've done as much research as I can and I genuinely believe in its potential. Ready to pull the plug if something goes horribly wrong, naturally.

It has been a chronic under-performer - something I hope changes sooner rather than later.

I completely ignored the ETN scam. From publishing as a mobile only coin to launching it as just another shitcoin.

And now they expect you to KYC to access your coins ? What a joke.

Glad I completely avoided that crap from day one.

I got into crypto when a mate convinced me to buy into the etn ico. At one stage I could have sold at 16x. Stubbornly I sit with coin dust today.

Yup, people who bought into the ICO and dump right as they suddenly changed the rules regarding it not being mobile only but a general purpose pootoken ended up making the most.

The other 90% of users who kept on believing ETN will change the world with their blinders unfortunately sitting with coins today that would more likely evaporate into obscurity than recover again.

If you want to know if a coin is bound to die or have any chance of life/recovery just look at trading volume and exchange support. If either of those drop its a bad sign over time and if both of those drop then you can bet top dollar its just a matter of time before it finds the red 0.

Etn's biggest mistake was being a monero fork. They could not get on any big volume exchanges because the regulations against privacy coins is very harsh and something they were not prepared for.

I tracked the project before it even put their launch date.

99% of the excitement was that it would be a coin only minable and directly usable from mobile devices.

This one feature drove the interest in this coin and right as the product launched after the ICO they suddenly flipped and made it a generic coin.

It was a complete bait and switch, at no point could they figure out a workable miner specifically for mobile devices and they simply scrapped the idea and went the easy route reusing miners already in open source domain.

These guys scammed the entire market plain and simple and I am surprise people have not made bigger noise over this considering this entire bait and switch is not much different in my eyes to ponzi schemes such as bitconnect who funnels in a ton of money, changes the rules and then bottom 90% of users who came late is only going to get crushed.

Well I didn't ever get the impression that the mining was going to be legit. I saw it for what it was, and the concept would have worked if it could have been even 1 rand a coin at this point. People would be "mining" it en masse in the third world and using it to buy airtime etc. It could still work in theory but I don't see anyone buying it up to thay value at all.
