Was there something about it that caught your attention?

Well besides flying up the charts it seems to be a XVG clone with quantum resistance and smart contracts planned.

Normally I would pass on it but their discord is active and the dev team is talking about road map release soon so I guess it’s worth keeping an eye on.

I just sent 1.5 ETH from Luno to Cryptopia. The send amount was 1.5, the received amount was 1.5. Total duration was about 30 - 45 min. Thats quite good

I logged into Binance now and I see a new coin sitting in my balance. Its called ETF. The link on the link doesnt work and it has zero value. Any idea what it is? Its also the same amount as the ETH that I have remaining on Binance, so a fork coin I'm assuming?

How did you do that? From your Luno wallet? What is the minimum you can send?

How do you guys pick which alts to invest in? Do you trade some and hold others? Anybody on social media worth following, or should I just pick a couple of coins and read up on them?

First I got my ETH address from Cryptopia under the "Deposit" tab. Went to send ETH on Luno, pasted the ETH address and the amount.
Im not sure what the minimum is. I have no idea why there was zero fees though

I've learned it's a terrible idea to look at cryptos you sold.. 34500 XVG sold last week. (I bought them for $140) :crying:

Seriously though, I don't recommend XVG, or at least not now, it's only pumping cos John McAfee tweeted about it.
My philosophy is simple.

Well unless Bitcoin or some other altcoin becomes what they're really intended to be (i.e., a usable currency) at some point you're gonna have to.. :p

That said I generally agree, apart from a minor amount of trading I usually just buy and hold. Only reason I actually sold in this case was cos I hit my target of ~200% growth at which point it was always my intention to sell out my original investment - one third. Rather than selling exactly 33% of every crypto I owned I decided to get completely rid of some that I considered deadwood. :p For what it's worth I still think XVG is deadwood, though I believed it had some potential when I initially bought it, trying to use it and reading more about it and the devs I eventually decided it was just a scam.

Point taken, but in my case I have no direct monetary input into any cryptocurrency, I mine. OK, so you can argue that my graphics cards and electricity were monetary input, but the cards I can resell or keep if I want to and the electricity is only about 90 extra kwh per month, but not enough to make me cry.

So in a way, I have it in the back of my head that if I were to lose everything tomorrow, I can turn around and walk away having learned something about cryptocurrencies. I've repaid my hardware multiple times over. Hmmm, maybe I should withdraw my initial capital outlay, you know, pay myself back :p

Yea, this is why I recovered my initial investment and don't intend to invest any fresh cash, as long as I stick to this I cannot lose anything other than potential profits. :)

So I managed to get into Etheremon early (yesterday morning) and cashed out my initial investment 2 hours later. Everything since has been gravy. Right now it's a literal pyramid scheme but the dev turned out to be surprisingly responsive and who knows, it might actually give cryptokitties some real competition if the planned features get implemented. Or more likely the dev will call the self_destruct() function in the Smart Contract in the next few days, take all the money and run. In any case these things have gone up 3-4x in value since I bought in, I couldn't phathom buying one now at the current prices.

Just in case it wasn't clear, this is a pyramid scheme right now. See here for details: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/c...okemon_version_of_cryptokitties_just/drijss9/
