Alternatives to Afrihost

that applies to uncapped only.

I believe he is on afrihost capped, in which case the Vox fatpipe products would suit him nicely, and are not speed dependent.

Maybe you should look at what he posted before randomly replying.

He linked to Business-uncapped.

you say you stream HD content, does the 100GB's last you for the month, or do you have to top it up? If you dont mind me asking :)

Given my current package/own stupidity; I am having to Top Up every month for the last few days of the month.

I originally signed up for HomeOffice LTE 50GB. (Telkom did away with this package and users were meant to have been auto migrated to now also have night surfer data). Since I was already aware 50GB is barely enough - I tried to migrate to the 100GB (+100GB) - I have to wait for 3 months to elapse before migrating packages. I am confident with my 100GB (+100GB) - I will be fine.

Over the last 2 months my bill has been R500 more than it should have been because of recharging and being unable to switch packages. If you are to sign up - take 100GB one time. (PS: My bro in Pretoria is also using my package :)

unfortunately i have to do with a 2MB uncapped package, with my understanding is that i have a Fair usage policy of 100GB's. I dont game or do any downloads, only streaming and emails, browsing. So i just wanted to see if with 100GB's of only streaming in SD mostly, can i get through that or less, without being throttled by Telkom

Ok so far I started on afrihost. Started fantastic. Network gradually fell apart. Customer service became non existent.

I now am decided between vox and web Africa.

Webafrica I have been disappointed with, peak times the network gets very slow. God forbid you subscribe to their service not on the 1st of the month. They don't believe in pro rata charging. Was charged R419 for 3 days use and 27 gigs.

Now to Vox, best by a long shot. Very happy with their speed and service.

Apologies Rickster, I saw your post in Afrihost POC and assumed you were on capped.

Sir Chevron is quite right, home uncapped is quite good enough. It's not like Afrihost where you need a business product in an attempt to get some decent internet at home. Anything you go with, Vox, will be good.

What is vox's shaping and throttling policy like? Does it have a system?

I can't speak for their uncapped product as I have the capped product.

There is no shaping, no throttling, no nonsense. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want, and I get full line speed.

I used to be with Afrihost. What a bunch of tossers.

Does that answer your question?

I'm still using afrihost, but i'm on the 50gb capped. And never had a problem, streaming is a breeze, was on uncapped bussiness accounts at different isp's and learned my lesson that capped is the only way to go. SO whatever package u choose just go capped that's my advice
