As someone who still reads the books the old-fashioned way, I'm pleased they have access to niche (read: international) titles that I like. However, I don't pay the ridiculous hardcover price, I always wait for paperback, but it seems on the store they are all "temporarily out of stock".

If they have a price then you can still order them and they will just come later. Two of the books I bought were temporarily out of stock but sounds like they may come next week.

Very much doubt you'll ever see anything like that.

You will see more Amazon products, and international products listed on Amazon SA, but I don't know of any other international Amazon sites that have a "shipping channel" for Amazon US products.

Yes I think it's all local third parties, they're essentially a drop shipper currently, will have to see if they expand logistics from US to SA in earnest.

Personally think this is just a symbolic start to get local teams going, and they're engaging with government in the background about new import channels from the US in order to compete with Chinese services like Temu etc.
