Amazon Shipping

Had a few deliveries done by Aramex, no problems whatsoever? I would not always blame the courier, though. Whenever I encountered any issues regarding something I bought online, I hadn't been cautious when choosing the seller. It's pretty difficult to pick the right one since there are so many. I found this soft https://learnretailarbitrage.com/selleramp-review/ very helpful in doing so. I use it as an extension for Google Chrome.
This looks like a shill post

If you are going to refute my points, let me just say, I order nearly weekly from overseas sites, so please don't try lecture me about your great Aramex experience from your 1/2 orders per year.
Are you a registered importer? The issue you may be experiencing is that your importer number or ID is in a database with a linked delivery address - so sometimes when you receive multiple parcels of different addresses within the same period this can create an issue or hold. I once had fedex and dhl attempting to deliver to my previous residential address that I hadn’t resided at for 6 months despite the parcels having the new address. It’s frustrating but a lot has to do with dropshippers using random IDs and varying delivery addresses to evade registration etc.

Still using ID (yeah no idea how I'm still able to get away with this, wondering when they will eventually block me and ask for importer code but years have gone by now and still hasn't happened). But also, they were holding it at the local Aramex depot in Cape Town. And as I said, all my parcels had the right address except 1 of them which came from another company and had my PO Box.

I've always used the Standard shipping option and have never had anything go missing. Delivery is always by the date promised by Amazon or earlier. I've never seen the need to spend extra on Priority.

Also if it is from Amazon then I don't need to deal with the shipping company. If a parcel did go missing then Amazon would sort it out. It's a no hassle process and I'm not going to die if I have a wait a bit longer for something.
Agreed with the above. I had someone steal a DVD box set years ago and Amazon couriered it to my door within 2 days.
But Aramex, with this latest parcel, just kept it in JHB for 2 weeks. The one just before was in JHB for 2 days (all part of the same order), and DHL (same order, different company shipping those goods) was never delayed.

Didn't you get all uppity and that. Got an importers license as a matter of interest? Just because you have a crappy experience doesn't mean others are in your boat. And it doesn't mean that they also won't have a crappy experience.

Have a coffee...it makes the day better. It's a discussion post. Not a keyboard-mashing opportunity to rage.

I also order regularly from amazon. About 3 to 4 times per month and never chose priority shipping. Every order with Aramex has been delivered before the expected date.

My current 3 orders.

First one is out for delivery today.
Second one cleared customs today and is in Sandton
Third one left Sandton this morning for Cape Town.

All 3 will be delivered 2 weeks before the expected delivery date.

Orders were placed on 12 March and 14 March for the order 2 and 3.1391315323.jpg

I've ordered like 3 or 4 things through Amazon (including a VR headset and a kindle). Always shipped by Aramex. Never had a problem myself.

My experience with Aramex (for deliveries direct from Amazon) has been fine.

Aramex Global Shopper for freight forwarding is a totally different story. That division is a complete mess and their service is non-existant. My last order with them, they took my package and treated it like a Piñata. It was insured but they refused to pay out, citing every excuse in the book.

I use MyUS now and the service is far superior. Reading the Aramex threads on myBB this is a better way to go - for freight forwarding.

I guess you run the risk of having issues or not. Like I'd said, of the 3 items in my basket that I just ordered (all expensive tech), 1 arrived via DHL 9 days before due date; 2 with Aramex and both were 2 weeks before the due date. Only issue was that the memory modules were held up for nearly 2 weeks in JHB and Aramex never responded.
My preference would be Aramex then DHL.

And locally The Courier Guy is fantastic.

I see my Aramex tracking for Amazon is not detailed.

I just get the main screen with main details. No history of locations package has been at. Details section is blank.

I am a avid myUS supporter but my package was sitting there for 10 days while I fought with them that Amazon and eBay sellers had sent packages that were delivered to them.

Keen to try Stackery or NYBox. Anyone have experience with these?

I use nybox. Only downside is delaware post office, for stuff that send via USPS can get lost.

So USPS does not deliver it to nybox they throw it in box at post office and marked is picked up and nybox goes fetch once a week or so, so I have lost stuff this way and sellers wont refund as they see it as being picked up.

Dont happen much it happen to expensivce parcel :(

Geez so it's fine as long as it's not an eBay purchase?

its 99% fine like small percentage it goes missing, you can always ask ebay seller send via UPS or fedex. The amount I saved on sales tax out weight the paackage cost by now.

Nybox also eletronic submit custom papers to carrier, so you dont even to submit invoices for your stuff most of time.

This is good to hear.

Someone above said something about a maximum number of orders per year before you have to register as an importer. That been your experience also?

Never ran into the importer code issue. Also regularly order from Amazon myself.

Anyone here singing the praises of Aramex just hasn't used them long enough to experience their level of sh#ttyness.

Some of the things they do:
1) Lose your parcels. All the time. Then make you wait until the "promised" delivery date 1 month later before they'll concede to Amazon that it will never be delivered
2) If you have multiple parcels from them, they'll collect them before sending out the courier. For example. I had a delivery come today. But they already had some of my parcels in the Cape Town depot by Thursday last week. But they held them until more parcels arrived before delivering. They do this regularly.
3) I once ordered something from eBay and used my PO box. Company ended up using Aramex (didn't know). Aramex then bundled my orders like case 2 above but then didn't deliver. I eventually able to get hold of them and are told it is my fault they held all my deliveries because of the PO Box (sure makes sense for that 1 parcel right?). Problem is I have 3 other Amazon parcels they also held. I tell the lady that the other addresses are correct, so why didn't deliver those others parcels that are COMPLETELY unrelated to this 1 parcel. "Sir, you put the wrong address, we'll deliver next week" (this was a Thursday). Puts the phone down in my ear. They don't listen to reason, logic or anything like that. If they can get away with doing nothing, they'll do it. 0 f#cks given.

I would love to only use DHL and I always check what premium shipping will cost. And sometimes it is worth it, but sometimes it is like R1000 extra and that just isn't doable for me.

I order near weekly from Amazon.com and I never get this.
It is so weird they doing this to you guys.

For things from Aliexpress, sure, but from Amazon the whole thing has been super streamlined.
I even get customs refunds.
Something that I'm sure Aramex absolutely hates needing to do.
I always ask myself... How hard can it be to deliver a parcel? It's not rocket science... I had a big fight with Adidas recently... They Delivered the wrong parcel twice and third time to a wrong address, in Durban North whole I'm here in Pretoria
