Hi all,

I have contacted Metro EMS in Cape Town and asked for a favour.
I want to send a couple of guys on shifts with Metro EMS.

At the moment, it's all undecided, but while they are deciding, I might as well find out who is keen.

My way of showing you guys what I do and what they do and also my way of also saying thank you for helping ME out.

The plan is as follows;

1. If you are in Cape Town, and you have donated to me, you will be given preference - obviously because I'd like to thank you myself.
2. If you haven't donated, you more than welcome to contact me, like I said, I'll be giving those guys preference.
3. The shift will happen over a weekend (Preferably Saturday night) and is 12 hours long - don't expect to be there for 6 hours and go home, you have to stay for the full 12 hours!

You will only be allowed to watch and observe and will need to sign a legal document prior to going onto shift - no taking photos and such.

There is more but this is the important parts - the rest I will explain to you personally if I get the go ahead.

Anyways, let me know!

If I get the go ahead, I'll contact the people via PM to arrange further.

I would love to but I can't handle blood and gore. I'm not even going to be in the room when my twin boys are born.

Wuss I know...

Four of us, me and blood don't go so well together.

Once when I was younger I went with my mom when she had a blood test, when they started pulling her blood I threw up EVERYWHERE, then proceeded to pass out.
Another time we were walking in the mall and a little girl was getting her ears pierced and boom, pass out.

I am not so bad now though.

Same here, I can't take blood.

I want to faint when I see blood and its also the main reason why I have never donated blood. :o

Actually, she only went till 1am with me.
I spoke to the officer and she said since I'm leaving early, I can take the ride along and look after her.

Which I did no problem :)

After the shift I did ask her, so ... do you think you could've survived 12 hours and she said yes, but she would've struggled.

Is this survival after the shift whilst you busy taking care of her or during the shift?
