With the Rand losing more and more value to the Dollar does this even matter anymore?

Come on guys really?

It's almost $100 drop in price. Unless the rand doubles it's still a pretty damn good drop.

No retailer here will adopt those prices yet.
It's already christmas so they will milk it until next year.

Price drops are only for the holiday season. AMD did it first, and then NVIDIA dropped the prices of their GTX 900 series in response.

This is irrelevant to us here in SA, price drops are for the USA only, also just for their holidays..

What did he say?

That AMD's basically only doing it for the US markets. Europe will also see price cuts, but with a less aggressive rollout, as will Canada, but it won't be immediate. Linus has revealed before that AMD's activity in Canada is typically not very aggressive because of the exchange rate at the moment, so they have similar issues to us, though they're a bigger market. That was also the case back in his NCIX days, but for different reasons.

It's a shame that the new Zen CPU's will only be released Q4 2016, according the same website.
But, on the other hand, the AMD Fury X2 will be released this December, which could lead to some price drops, but probably nothing before next year.
