Americans are not smart 101 - Drone hacking

TRIPLECROSS

This was not an oversight by one or two people.
Apparently the pentagon have known about this flaw since the 90's.... this is a stupid decision by a whole organisation based on the assumption that it won't get used.... I mean what kind of security idiots are they employing in the pentagon?

This book will answer your questions

As ALWAYS bringing value for money

It sort of reminds of me the story about millions that NASA poured into developing a pen that could write in space. The Soviets saved all that money by using a pencil. I don't think Americans are stupid, it seems sometimes when they are developing technology they are so big picture that they lose focus on the details.

The Soviets had brilliant people too. Don't think that America had a monopoly on brilliance. However, the Soviets were completely outmanuvered by the US and outperformed on most levels. The SU had 350+ mil people (not counting Eastern Europe which was feeding the SU while the SU was building it's space and military programs) vs America's 300 mil and a much larger landmass as well as a far older history - when did America become a nation again? But they failed. Heck the Americans even sold them computers with backdoors which allowed them to blow up some gas pipelines. They defeated the entire Red Army in Afghanistan by arming the Afghanis with stingers. They stopped the Chinese and the North Koreans and pushed them back in the Korean war - the war was right there in CHina's back yard but the Americans from 1000s of miles away kicked them back.

Imagine if the CHinese or Russians had to help defend Mexico against America. They'd dirty their pants trying - to put it politely.

Like to reconsider that -- the designed bit

Yes I know that a lot was done at CERN but without the Americans there would be no internet. Even this bb software was developed in the US, no?

The EU funded the development of GSM networks for instance. Not everything is American. But a lot is. Guys like Fermi, Tesla and Einstein could move to the US and work there and help develop for the Americans. That's part of the reason behind US success - US is a mix of cultures. Charlize Theron is contributing to US greatness, as was Charlie Chaplin as was the guy whose parents came from Eastern Europe - Woz.

NO NO NO

Without Tim Berners-Lee we would NOT be reading this now.

You apologist guys just keep on keeping on -- even when faced with a mountain of incontrovertible evidence.

However -- you never fail to amuse !

Profound

Not all rubbish is trivial by the way, thanks to recycling even the most rubbish items now have value so think about that.

Too true

Trolls are re-cycled as Idiots
or
wait
is it the other way around

Berners-Lee, Darwin, Babbage.. just a few Great Brits that come to mind, I could go on.

With Tim Berners-Lee and without ARPANet you wouldn't be reading this now.
Without Mozilla FireFox you wouldn't be reading this now.
Without Unix you wouldn't be reading this now.
Without Windows you wouldn't be reading this now.
etc

America had the greatest contribution. Before CERN there was ArpaNet.

Berners-Lee, Darwin, Babbage.. just a few Great Brits that come to mind, I could go on.

Darwin did not contribute to the development of the internet.
Babbage did not contribute either.

(Sir) Berners-Lee used a NeXT machine (US developed) as the first WWW server. I see he also spent time at the MIT. LOL

However as said DARPA is the organisation which created the internet and before the WWW we had usenet, email, gopher, telnet etc - I'm not an expert at it but there were other protocols before http. WWW would have developed without the British guy - the internet wouldn't be here without DARPA. Sorry British losers. America wins! :) You can put all the "Sir" and "Lord" titles as many times as you wish. ;)

For the record, it may seem like the US is filled with super-humans, but at NASA, for one, pretty much only the department heads and other high-ups are American, the rest are foreign. Same goes for Silicon Valley.
Source: Friend of the family who engineers the thermal properties on CPUs for a major processor manufacturer.

Exactly. The Americans themselves are all FOREIGNERS. America is a mix of various nationalities - virtually all the names you see arrived in America in the last 400 years. America also recognised foreign talent. Instead of being intellectually superior like our ANC regime, they did not drive away but invited skilled and talented foreigners. To immigrate to other nations is difficult in comparison - but for a talented foreigner, until 911, it was very easy to get into America. Of course unlike the SA govt they did not want the uneducated people - we have tons of those here from Zim, Nigeria, Somalia etc (amongst some educated ones). We should only import educated Nigerians/etc - not just let everyone in.

Weelllll -- perhaps we need to go back to the beginning then.

Starting with Babbage and progressing to Alan TURING and then to Colossus

Still want to dispute incontrovertible facts ?????

Your apologetica is starting to become wearisome now. :(

This reminds me of a flaw in the Gripen design that came to light a few years ago. The Gripen had the ejection handle between the pilot's legs that could be loosened and ultimately dislodged by their G-suits as one pilot found out after suddenly being expelled from the aircraft out of the blue :D

You're clueless.

Google John Bardeen and Walter Brattain and Herman Hollerith.

If you really want to know who inveted the first computer - Google for the Antikythera Mechanism.

I'm not disputing the Collossus etc but those could also only function because of US help and funding. Computers developed all over the world - the French and Germans also had early analog and conceptual machines and ideas. The Russians also had scientists contemplating them. The SU developed computers independently of the West as well. However, they were not the forerunners of what you're typing on now. You could have mentioned early BBC and ICL machines :). Unix, DOS, NT, OS/2, BSD, MacOSX etc - all American products, some junk, some good.

However, most work in computers, networks, electronics, IT, science in the 20th century and now 21st was done by the Americans. You won't find a technology which doesn't have either entire origins or vast improvements made in the US of A.

I'm not an apologetic. I'm not even American. Your patriotism is just blinding you. ;) Maybe you watch too much James Bond?

You're clueless.

Caution:
I have spent quite some time reading the DigiChilli CHRONICLES ;)

OK

and

you are brainless :p

Google John Bardeen and Walter Brattain and Herman Hollerith.

Now there is a good one

Read

"IBM and the Holocaust" by Edwin Black to get an idea of what "Holerith"was used for when bought out by the *good ol boys* ( WATSONS ) at IBM.

I'm not disputing the Collossus etc but those could also only function because of US help and funding.

ABSOLUTE rubbish again

The British supplied all the tech and knowledge to the Americans -- NOT the other way around.

Read up on the history of RADAR and the cyclotron.

However, most work in computers, networks, electronics, IT, science in the 20th century and now 21st was done by the Americans. You won't find a technology which doesn't have either entire origins or vast improvements made in the US of A.

Shockley -- BELL labs and the semi-conductor -- the Americans got that from the -- ALIENS :D

WHO started BELL .......????????????

Lets have some references for these vast sweeping statements of yours.

I'm not an apologetic. I'm not even American. Your patriotism is just blinding you. ;) Maybe you watch too much James Bond?

WOW -- you could have fooled me ........

Sorry I am not the one wearing blinkers.

I just like facts and getting things straight.

Thats exactly what I thought... but then the American apologetic monkeys started screeching in their cages and I really didnt feel like debating with dumb, so I went to do something more important... like open a can of tuna.

Ah welll --- here I am like Bill Gates doing the work of Stevie boy

Peter -- I would have thought that you would have picked up the gaff about "cyclotrons" ?????????

Anyway

Rather than staying "clueless" I have been "sleepless" doing some homework.
Centimetric Radar & the MAGNETRON
Consequently that Edward George Bowen was sent as the radar expert in the Tizard Mission to the USA in 1940,
which resulted in the creation of the MIT Radiation Lab to develop the device further.
Half of the radar deployed during World War II were designed at the RadLab, including over 100 different radar systems costing $1.5 billion.

The greatest thing about America which you miss is Henry Ford and the PRODUCTION-LINE.
The ability of the Americans to take an invention and turn it into MONEY.

Anyway -- here is something more for you to think about.

Alan Blumlein

most of which will probably be completely LOST on you (and 99% of "others")

hmmm... to OP, the fact that American companies are hiring Chinese and Indian Engineers might have something to do with this... American engineering quality is dropping very quickly and things that should last 5 years, now last one (so when you see something made in china, but it's engineered in america, blame the engineering first and not the manufacturing). I read that thousands of experienced engineers in America are being fired and replaced by those inexperienced Chinese/Indian engineers... thus those experienced engineers end up becoming teachers or flipping burgers!

Would you like to explain (in your considered professional opinion) how this "SkyGrabber" works
and
IF it is in fact such a threat to the American "Drones"

( might consider buying me a BIG dish and one of them DSTV cards :D )
