Amobia 3MB uncapped useless

Thanks man, any WUG in noordwyk and how can i join?

I would suggest you follow vamsi77 advice and join the WUG site. They most probably have a link to google maps that show all the users and high sites in your area and allow you to check if you have line of sight. Next step would be to contact the admin of the tower and see if there is a slot for you. Not sure if you know what hardware you have, but if you have a Mikrotik product you can browse the their forum for lots of information. Most of content you download you will find on the WUG.

OpenWeb is adsl, Amobia is wireless.

Some of us are not luckly enough to have our telkom cables stay where they were installed for more than a week. So we rely on wireless connections....

Have been on Amobia uncapped for about a month now... Fairly pleased with the service and must say support is efficient (Cape Town) The only real issue is the quality of Skype call (even just voice). On my side it is always clear but the receiving side keeps complaining that it cuts and so on... Have been on the phone with them many times, they took a trace and change some parameters which seems to have worked for few days but now it is back to how it was before... Must give them a call again..

Hi all,

We thought it would be fair to respond to this thread, to just clear up some possible misconceptions.

According to our records, the user in question has had problems with 3 websites:
www.sap.com
www.yesap.com
www.observe-it.sys

This issue is related to a new proxy system that Amobia is experimenting with. The reason for the proxy system is an attempt to not horribly shape some Uncapped users (some users download in excess of 600G per month!!), while still allowing a good browsing experience for everyone - even the abusers above.

As far as we are aware, these are the only websites that the user could not access successfully.

The connection was therefore not "completely useless".

The fact that the user has already downloaded about 40GB this month, seems to confirm this.

The issue with the websites was resolved on 21 December and the user confirmed as such.

Regards

The Amobia Team

Hello,

Those are some of the websites i came accross which i couldn't browse, i am not sure how many are not working. I have only confirmed that those web sites worked for day you said you resolved it, but i have complained later that those websites are not working again. I am not sure about you browsing experience, most of the time i was experience "TIME OUT" on many websites till the last day I used it.

Any way i am out of it now as i have cancled the account, it was a bad experience.
