AMR Codec

'Lo all,

AMR is touted by mobile industry to be the new be-all and end-all of mobile/voip codecs. Major licensing fee's unfortunately. Anybody using it yet? Does the improvement warrant looking into licensing?

Or recommend a SIP based client for educational or evaluational testing. i.e. I don't want to buy a binary or SDK just to check it out.

how abt speex

Hi.

Some people rave about speex and also this new codec SILK as well.

I guess one can call it the fashion trends of codecs.

One still needs a compatible device on the other end to decode.
