Fudzy why are you always defending them? No matter how wrong they are there will always be you, vioadmin and R13 jumping in to defend them. Why? Do you owe them something? Do you agree with their actions against other racial groups?

I've heard it used in social circles, what I meant is it's not something you hear on Mzansi like you would hear the n word in a Spike Lee movie for example.

Heh, if you can get past the shoddy acting, extremely poor sound mixing (always sounds as if the volume is set to 203948203948029348209348db) and bad continuity there occassionaly is an enjoyable movie after that :D

Who said the term Boer is the problem? I have a problem with the calling for the killing of Boere/Black people/Indians/Chinese/Germans/Jews and what not being referred to as heritage. I grew up with black people being known as K*****s. So even though I know it's wrong it's part of my heritage by their standards not so?

Well I don't support the ANCYL nor the ANC as it stands at the moment, I like debating politics/social issues and if I wasn't here playing Devil's Advocate it would all be a bit one sided :D

Not surprised at their reaction. They had to take exception. But the ruling will be challenged. So it's not the end of the road for this one.
 
ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu said the party viewed the judgment as an attempt to rewrite the South African history which is not desirable and unsustainable.

"This ruling flies against the need to accept our past and to preserve our heritage as an organisation and as a people.

"The ANC will carefully study the judgment and understand its full implications before releasing a much more comprehensive response.

"In the meantime we will respect the decision of the court while investigating options of dealing with this judgment.

"Then we will explore every possibility to defend our history, our heritage and our traditions.

Funny how the ANC think their past is somehow sacred, but they feel the need to expend millions of Rands eradicating any name with an Afrikaans slant. :rolleyes:

Also, in the one report on 702 they said the ANC will respect the ruling...then in the next bulletin they said they are appalled? Do they need to go on some meds to treat their multiple personality disorder or what???

They can, but they wont. Respecting the ruling would be to leave it alone and accept it. They have already shown that they do not respect the ruling by stating that they will appeal and find ways to have it overturned.

Of the 2 statements, respecting the ruling, and appalled at it. One of them is hollow. Pretty easy to see which one.

I don't believe a word they say. Not a single one. I don't think they even know the meaning of the word "respect".

Besides...appalled because a court said that singing "Shoot the Boer" is considered hate speech? Just the fact that they are appalled by this shows me what goes on in their heads! Anyone should be appalled by this song still being sung in this day and age. The struggle is over. Move on. Your struggle is no longer with the Boer and white man in general...it is now with the government that you voted into power and robbing your country blind!
