How would you tell? The place is an absolute dump because of the ANC's neglect.
 
That looks very much like the tiles were not secured effectively and have fallen off. The cANCer is creating a cover for the lack of fux given to the site now that the spot light is on this story. I'm quite sure saw a picture of his grave site which is also clusterfuk due to the lack of maintenance. Basically what we are seeing is the African way, when it fux out, blame someone else. Vivo! I don't know what happened, I never said I do. What I am standing on is that it was not a coincidence.

Why, what, and when exactly it happened are questions whoever is behind this will be able to answer.
 
A week before the Chris Hani memorial monument was vandalised, a kiosk at the site was broken into, the sink removed and a drawer handle broken, but nothing was taken.

This emerged yesterday as the Ekurhuleni municipality officials were counting the costs of the act of the latest vandalism incident this weekend where the monument was stripped of its lights, and steel frames and a granite pillar were damaged. ..

Looks like garden variety vandalism and lack of maintainance. Nothing political IMO.

I'm not trying to be funny, but how is anybody going to reach that high without scaffolding or a ladder and without sledgehammers or power tools? My guess is the tiles just fell off. Why not just crowdfund to raise the necessary funds to do the repairs and get started without all this vandalism nonsense? ANC wasting everybody's time here.... Maybe they can also crowdfund for some CCTV cameras if they suspect vandalism?

ANC will never miss an opportunity to dig up racial wounds for their own gain. Got to keep the country's emotions riled up and allegiance sworn to the liberators.

Exactly what I'm stating. With the ANC you never know. I know it's not beyond them to do such just to ruffle up citizens in South Africa by scratching old wounds.

Ya, I think that is entirely a possibility.

Like they wanted to have a shot of the memorial for an article and saw its gone to ruin but then tried to frame it as recent vandalism.

I see they never did catch those people who sawed off Rhodes's nose at his memorial....
 
Anyone know how much this monument cost seeing how it was in Zuma's era...?
 
Timing is good, if the tiles did fall off itself maybe its Hani saying his say on the outcome of the courts decision

This pic was taken in 2019, look at the dark lines between the tiles. That means that there is likely water ingress. The tile above the sign is pretty much falling off.

Look at that compared to its inauguration.

The lights at the monument are not working , the wires are torn. The toilets in the monument are not working, water pipes are broken and the water is all over the floor in those toilets. Very unclean. The monument need some cleaning, trimming of flowers and sweeping the leaves on the floor at the monument.
