Honestly Gamers Nexus went out of their way to destroy their ties with LTT. Well my dad always said "be careful who your friends are". Linus just had to respond with GN are correct and we will fix the issues. We will resolve the badly handled water cooler issue. That's it.

Linus decided to lie about it and now it's a million times worse. I actually watch LTT a lot more than GN. It's sad that the issue was handled this badly.

Regarding LTT, we are simply going to state the relevant facts:

On 10th August, we were told by LTT via email that the block had been sold at auction. There was no apology.

We replied on 10th August within 30 minutes, telling LTT that this wasn't okay, and that this was a £XXXX prototype, and we asked if they planned to reimburse us at all.

We received no reply and no offer of payment until 2 hours after the Gamers Nexus video went live on 14th August, at which point Linus himself emailed us directly.

The exact monetary value of the prototype was offered as reimbursement. We have not received, nor have we asked for any other form of compensation.

As far as I know selling has a fixed price and a auction does not because people bid on the object.

Well, some of our clients take 5 working days to pay. It could be that they were in the process since the 10th and it was just a happenstance if they have any internal emails to back that up then it is an honest answer. If they had no plans on paying these people again feed them to the wolves. Rightfully so.

If they didn't then how did they get the source material to begin with? Steve is under no obligation handle Linus as a friend. In fact, they already stated they will be treating LMG as a corporation months ago with the whole "trust me bro" warranty on the backpacks. So this isn't some new behaviour or a Judas moment, they are acting exactly as they said they would, calling out a corporation for their shitty behaviour. Just as they've done with HP, Dell (Alienware), MSI, ASUS and many, many others.

LTTs past mistakes in videos are something that can simply be fixed going forward. Their general lack of professionalism is something that can be addressed. Auctioning off a prototype part without permission is scummy and vile and likely illegal.

Taking the victim role is pathetic from a CEO, especially when the original video wasn't a hit piece, it was a call to action. LMG could have handled it as such. Instead, he chose the route he chose and defending his actions, lied in the defense and played word games in an attempt to mitigate damage. Steve saw through it and brought receipts, disproving the nonsense.

I like LTT and GN and generally enjoy Linus on the whole, so it's crappy to see. But that doesn't absolve him of responsibility for this mess.

I did watch the second video and the vibe I got from it is a "I got LTT by the balls I will now castrate them" type deal. He couldn't hold his animosity towards LTT. That is why I started to play devil's advocate. I personally hate backstabbers and Steve gives me that vibe. What was stopping Steve to say "We will give LTT a week and get back to you" Why did he immediately see only the worst possible meaning in LTTs response? If they were friends Steve could have handled this situation in a million different ways. He wanted to see the open letter in a bad way. That is a dick move in my book.

No way in hell will Linus be able rectify all the mistakes. But at least he could have applogized to everyone right. He could have admited to being a dick and people would have given him a second chance. Now his company is ****ed. He will never be trusted again. The problem I have is everyone else in the company that wasn't responsible for the ****up now all their jobs goes to **** as well. That sucks and that is why I think Steve was a total ******* about all this. Sinking companies gets good views but there are really good people that now has to look for other work in what is essentially a dead market. Even Canda of all places it is hard to find good work.

Steve at Gamers Nexus has publicly shown his integrity, at the huge risk of backlash, and we have nothing but respect for him for how he's handled himself, both publicly and when speaking directly to us.

About the future of Billet Labs: We don't plan to mourn our missing block, we're already hard at work making another one to use for PC case development, as well as other media and marketing opportunities. Yes it sucks that the prototype has gone, it's slowed us but has absolutely not stopped us. We have pre-orders for it, and plan to push ahead with our first production run as soon as we can.
