ANC Tech Tips?

I still enjoy LTT content, adds are done in a short but sweet way

I used to enjoy Gamers Nexus but I can't stand the long endless talking so much anymore

Level1tech ftw.

This is the thing. Their videos are fun to watch.

All Linus needed to say was I'm sorry and we're going to fix it and outline how they were going to address each issue.

Even after all he's achieved it seems like Linus is still really insecure and takes every criticism of LTT as a criticism of him when it's most likely just that the company is a mess. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason they've gone quiet is because they are bringing the new CEO in NOW so Linus doesn't put his foot in his mouth again.

Big oof from LTT. Hopefully things have been cleaned up since she worked there.

That being said, Madison cutting herself so badly so she would end up in the hospital to escape from work doesn't sound like something a normal person would do.

I've worked in some **** jobs and at one job was accused of **** I didn't do. I then had to remain in the work environment for months while I planned my departure and looked for a new job. I was treated like garbage by half of the company and struggled for ages. I even lost weight due to the stress.

I still didn't think about putting myself in the hospital just to get away from it.

Yea, I don't know about all that from Madison. Some of it may be true, but she generally came across as an immature child. I doubt her career experience or understanding of what it means to work all day, consistently.

I'm sure there's truth to some of it, but it comes across as extremely woe-is-me which leads me to think the lady doth protest too much.

She was basically Linus but younger and a woman. That's why the video with her was so great. She traded quips with him like a trooper.

Agree, some of the stuff she said seems OTT.

Ya, but at the same time I understand why some girls may get uncomfortable hanging around socially awkward geeks. I remember the **** we used to say to each other at our LAN parties... It's not necessarily malicious or even meant to be taken at all seriously, but to an outsider it might seem horrendous.

I recently watched a video about how men bond by giving each other ****, and ya, I don't know whether that's right or wrong but it's fairly normal amongst dudes while it's not at all how girls operate. So you take a girl and stick them into a predominantly male environment and there's bound to be ****.

Then you add the fact that some of these guys might be like "omg boobs" and it can only get worse from there...

But ya, I guess even a nerd like me understood you need to be professional in the workplace. Guess some dudes don't have a clue.

This is the problem, LTT is being run like a frat house.
So there is no doubt in my mind that they aren't explicitly told to behave like this is a work environment.

Some of these guys have never held a real job in their lives and then joined the frat party.
I have no doubt that she was facing both sexual advances (hey, want to bang, hey look at your t!ts, etc.) and gender stereotyping (woman suck <insert thing here>)

In comparison, in my current company, it is not only spelled out in your contract, it is a first week thing where it is made VERY clear to you that sexual, racial or any political discussions are not for the work place. And if someone reports you, you will face disciplinary action including the possibility of termination.

Plenty of people will say that is harsh, but the reality is, 99% of the time, when someone already reported you to HR, you've gone WAY too far.

I mean in our workplace I know a few people that got fired under this clause and the sh#t was crazy. Like getting drunk at a work function and then whipping d!ck out in front of a bunch of woman. Going to a work function dinner and calling someone the K-word. Getting wasted while meeting external candidates at a university meet and greet and harassing the female students.

This sh#t happens people. There are some really unhinged people out there and you'd be surprised how many of them there are around you. You give them any kind of alcohol (which shows their true person) or any reason to think they can get away with something and they take it beyond too far.

This is basically my approach to the workplace but I've never seen it formalised. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.

I'm so happy someone is finally calling out LTT. LMG content for the past few years has been steadily going downhill and I'm happy to say I have an intense dislike for Linus and how he's ruining the tech community with clickbait.

I mean if your friend did something stupid you tell them they did something stupid right?

You don't call someone a friend and then stab them in the back

If they were friends Steve could have handled this situation in a million different ways.

Why didn't he do what any friend would do and that is to call his friend and say "Hey man you are ****ing up get your **** together"
Why do you keep assuming they're friends?
