Andor

Episode 8. Probably the episode I enjoyed the least. Felt a lot busier that previous ones - a lot of cuts to different things happening. The 'Andor finds himself in prison thing' felt a bit forced, especially given how competent they paint him in previous episodes. The prison is cool though, I like the competent totalitarian nature of the Empire structures.

Oh yeah this scene - not sure what magic they were doing with the sound but I kept taking my headphones off thinking the clanging sounds were coming from my front door or something.

Fantastic show! Absolutely loving it, done really well in every department, writing, acting, visuals!

Diego Luna's acting during his arrival at the prison was incredible. Coupled with the camera work it made me feel so anxious and uncomfortable.

Loved the exchange between Luthen and Saw Gerrera as well and I really like how they show you how diverse and disparate the rebel groups are.

The prison scenes were awesome and set up more of the rebellion and Rogue One in particular. I like how he met Melshi and probably quite a few more prisoners are going to join the rebellion.

He got complacent, and because he didn't know about the new Imperial rules, he got caught by surprise by their new harsh enforcement tactics.

Dude went from Millionaire to being broke and in jail in no time. Thats a major downer! I would be totally depressed

I would say it is more because he didn't have anything meaningful to do. He never stopped to think what he would actually do if his hustling actually scored big

Anyway Andor is great.
Sex, lesbians, hookers are now official Star Wars canon.

(Episode 9)

Noooooooooooooo don't end there! Can't wait to see what's gonna happen next episode.
ON PROGRAM!

But seriously that ending was great. They built the tension so well that when he finally asked him that last time and he answered...oh shit boys, it's on!

So now we even have horror elements in the Star Wars with that torture scene. Essentially being driven to madness by the the screams of dying children. And the doctor callously talking about it.

This show is generally doing a great job with showcasing banality of evil in action, especially with Dedra. Ambitious bureaucrats just carrying out orders. She has shown flashes of taking things on a personal level, but generally she appears to not care about the person, just the outcome and what she needs.

Andor has shown us that some pretty average Imperial officers can be way scarier than Sith lords and planet-destroying superweapons. You can see that Dedra takes pleasure in what she does when she is doing things hands-on rather than dealing with bureaucracy.

I can't wait for the next episode!

I disagree here. She tells Bix not to bore her. She wants results, so she can go back to the ISB, report it and ''fix'' it. Then move on to the next problem.

I do agree though that Andor has shown a whole other dynamic to the Empire, which is why I mentioned banality of evil. No evil Siths, Palpatine is just a name in the background, no force powers, just regular people getting thinsg done with ruthless efficiency.

Eh - kinda like having a series with a weekly release again. Lekker getting home from work on a Wednesday excited about something; getting some food ready & settling in.
Scheduled release > binge.
More time to savour the show as well as elicit conversation around it, so called water cooler moments, without fear of spoiling the story who haven't watch as many episodes.
Gives longevity to shows and I think improves the views a studios get.
