What? We finally saw a competent and conniving empire without the cliched big bad guy running the show. We saw the rebel uprising and a view from the ground not really seen before in Star Wars. Each character had clear motivations and development through the series. Sounds like you watched something else entirely.and all a bit “paint by numbers”.
Maybe Ben10 is more your pace.Andor had potential… but I feel like they dumbed it down. There was potential for drama, but nothing truly shocking and all a bit “paint by numbers”. Beautiful? Yes. Wasted opportunities? Definitely.
Maybe on the contrary, I watched what was actually there … and found the plot teenage at best. It struck me as empty as the Mandalorian plot: you’ve got these rich characters and you give them very little meaty to do. Mandalorian was all about keeping baby Yoda safe. Andor is all about a pretty lame bank heist and a very convenient get-away (like all good teenage drama). Of all the ways to show the Empire getting stricter in reaction, did we really need to care about a senator with family issues who struggles with her private banker (talk about Real Housewives of Pretoria)? And the pettiness of a mid-level security officer getting fired and then going on an unsuccessful quest for revenge? More teenage-friendly angst. What?
