Howzit,

I think we need one of these so that people don't have to wade through pages and pages to find what apps other people use that are useful.

Current list :
  • APN Droid - Turn on and off 3G
  • Power controls - Turn on/off Wifi,GPS,Bluetooth,Sync and adjust brightness on 3 levels.
  • Notes - take down notes (with encryption)
  • Advanced Task Killer - Kill apps to free up memory and save battery
  • BatteryTime Lite - Shows detailed information on your battery (status, how much talk time, video playback etc. you have left)
  • Google Goggles - Take a picture of products and let google identify it for you.
  • Google Sky Maps - The sky which shows starts + planets based on your GPS location
  • Shazam - Music identifier
  • News 24 App
  • First aid - basic first aid guidelines, treatments etc.
  • Dolphin HD browser
  • Camera Illusion - cool app that adds various effects for your camera
  • Apps Organiser - lets you make folders and group your apps
  • Astro File Manager
  • Google Gesture Search and Gesture Search Bar - lets you draw letters to search your phone
  • No lock - If you dont want the lock screen for some reason
  • Wave Guide - Costs $20 a year, but makes your phone unusable if it's stolen and lets you track it wherever it is
  • Barcode scanner - useful for grabbing QR codes, but doesnt pick up most SA barcodes
  • Color Note - nice way to make quick notes
  • Data counter widget - Check data usage
  • Trapster - Check and report roadblocks
  • Memory booster lite.
  • syncMyPix - great for syncing contacts photo's with there facebook profile pic with out copying all your contacts to your phone.
  • Net Billing - dont know what the other wifi/data monitors are like but this one gives you your usage for wifi & normal gprs/edge/3g. You also input your price per mb of data and it tells you how much data should have come off your account.
  • Gmote - Great for browsing your movies/music on your pc, also has basic control functions, I have found that the vlc app works better for fast forwarding tho.

Games
  • Gem Miner
  • Robo Defense - Tower defense game
  • Labyrinth Lite - Tilt game - get the ball in the hole
  • Gameboid - Gameboy emulator

Out of Market Apps:

  • HTC IME mod - gives you a couple more options for your keyboard
  • Market Enabler - allows you to fake your market info and access overseas (and paid) apps. Doesnt work for everyone
  • Brut.all Navigation Hack - enables navigation, but still has one or two bugs

Thanks for the input guys, we gonna have a duk list soon :)

  • Google Gesture Search and Gesture Search Bar - lets you draw letters to search your phone
  • No lock - If you dont want the lock screen for some reason
  • Wave Secure - Costs $20 a year, but makes your phone unusable if it's stolen and lets you track it wherever it is
  • Barcode scanner - useful for grabbing QR codes, but doesnt pick up most SA barcodes :(

These aren't in the market, but they're still pretty good. Search on XDA-forums for the APKs

Installed now, will give it a try on my drive home tonight. I can't imagine we will have to wait TOO long before Google releases Navi for South Africa though.

I need an app to hide "certain" files from the general photo/video browser...

No, just need a way to show people at work pics of stuff without having to worry about what the flick of a finger across the screen could reveal...

Has anyone looked at CoPilot Live 8? They have maps for SA much cheaper than NDrive.

Can't post a link I'm on my phone.

Y5 - automatically turns your wifi on and off when you enter and leave areas where you've connecred to a wifi network before.

Try Pandora, you can add pics you want to the 'hide' list. The pics are only viewable through pandora and its password protected.

It depends of if Google owns the map tiles for SA. If they don't we'll have to wait till Google get maps for here that they own...

Is anyone using Wavesecure?

Yeah, $20 a year is pretty cheap considering it renders your phone unuseable for everyone but yourself, and gives you the ability to track it wherever it is.
