Android Auto (Google Assistant) vs Apple Carplay (Siri)

UI looks rather eye pleasing though.

Rather convoluted though. If I want to switch from listening to Google Music to an Audiobook I have to enter the app that's currently playing, open a menu, select the app I want, and then it will switch over. Compared to the home screen on CP, where you can just click on a single icon, it takes considerable time which I suppose is fine, if you're parked.

Best is going to be in the new A class Mercedes..but Apple wins in my books

Just use your voice to open the app?

Mine seems more reliable after the update. Been using it throughout the day and it hasn't crashed yet.

That's often even slower
I've no complaints regarding stability. It's pretty solid in that regard. The workaround issues I referred to was the stock dialer on the Mate 10 Pro not being AA compatible, so I had to get the Google dialer and side load that, and having to use a third party equaliser in order to get sound output using GPM. But as far as stability is concerned, no compliants (yet- touch wood).

(choose your poison)
Seems a bit unnecessary - your choice is going to be dictated by the device you plug in.

You know I asked multiple VW and other people if they could confirm the new Vivo would support it, just in case it's worth a look over the Kia and not a single person could give me a strain answer.

Why isn't this being marketed properly?

Also all those blank dash buttons. Horrid.

Kia at least hides them above the gear lever and they are all blank so doesn't look like anything is missing.

The thing with AA at least is that the interface can't be different (the UI, that is). It's one of the rules for "safety"- if it's all similar then it's familiar, you spend less time trying to figure out what you have to do. Or something along those lines.

The UI is horrible. Looks like they strolled into a Spur on a Wednesday night with a paper placemat and a box of crayons, found the kid that kept bouncing off the trampoline onto his head (there's always at least one) and said draw kid...

If safety is so important why is everything buried? Why are the scroll controls on the left hand side of the touch screen?

And ffs why does it insist on showing your most recent made/received calls?

Because 'murica drives on the other side of the road? I dunno. Never said I agree with it. A lot of the things they did could have been done better. Like the lower bar- make it slide down during navigation in order to use more screen real estate for the map. Or using tiles instead of menus (on the left).
