Yikes, these videos are not giving me a lot confidence in the Snap 8 Gen1
GPU has similar power consumption as M1 which sits in iPad Pro and MacBooks, geez like! Even on lower loads, still worse power consumption than the much older 865. That first video is putting me off, the power efficiency is incredibly bad compared to A15 and this years new iPhone on A16 will probably be equal if not better than A15 which seems to have great efficiency.

Xiaomi 12 review is worrying, overheating just like 888.
What the hell is going on with Samsung’s fabrication process? I believe they are the ones doing these chips for Qualcomm.

Yeah the chip reviews surprised me. Would be decent in tablets and seems MediaTek chips might be the better ones this year

Who would have thought MediaTek would be the one making the seemingly better chip versus Qualcomm, they have come very far.

Seems Qualcomm are really back to the 810 days, I remember back then Samsung chose to use their own chips globally and other manufacturers chose to go with 808.

I have never paid for an app.
I have never thought someone was rich because they had an iPhone - tbf I never go full retard.

You can have just an iPhone and have a great experience - I own only a iPhone and air pods. My wife has an iPhone, some random Xioami health band and some random wireless ear buds, everything works fine.

When you get a new phone you put it next to your old phone and everything syncs and then it asks you if you want to reset the old device.

No one seriously cares about backgrounds, widgets and customized icons. Customization of a phone to the level of changing roms is not something that I have ever thought “man I am missing this”

FaceID works fine for me with a mask - it’s 2022.
It works fantastically without a mask - which is how I use my phone 99% of the time

Google integration is great (contacts, calendar, gmail)

I am completely fine with it’s garbage best in class build quality and components.

Is it better to keep Google Photos for bulk storage of older photos and videos? I generally like iCloud photos more except for the fact that it wants to download everything to all devices all the time, which won't work if you have hundreds of gigs of files.

iCloud does self manage local storage so there’s nothing to worry about there.

I still run both though but will likely change to iCloud fully with the new features in iOS16.

Just be careful never to tell Google Photos to clear your storage as it will nuke your iCloud library. Even better remove its permissions, but then you need to delete things twice.
