What phone should I get

If you can afford it IPhone all the way.
That comes from an Android user of many years but really enjoying my iPad and would gladly jump ship to an iPhone. But iPhones are so damn expensive/hold their value so well it makes no sense for me to get one, considering I’ll probably crack the screen in a few months or it’ll get stolen. For R3k you can get a near flagship 3yr old android phone, that value is unbeatable.

Swapped an Android for an iPhone 8. Worst decision I have ever made. Had to wait out the 2years. Once it was time, I got an S20+ and a 6k zar trade in from Samsung.

Now I am on the s22 ultra and I am happy! Battery life, call quality (on telkom nogal) is gr8, pictures are awesome.

Android for life...

Phones have become pretty much of a muchness. a few new features are added and storage space/ram and camera quality improve over time. Yes there are novelties like foldable phones but they will probably remain niche. As Example2505 said you either love or hate Apple, same can be said for Samsung/Hauweeeiii
I don't like their interfaces and bloatware you cannot get rid of.
I am currently on my 4th Motorola phone that my daughter recently sent over from the US. They use vanilla Android and their phones are tough. This current phone is the Defy and is MIL-SPEC 810H compliant so won't break easily.

Hi Guys

I have been a long time Android users and currently have the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. I am due for an upgrade and I really do not fancy the foldable devices that Samsung currently has.

I feel like Samsung is doing the same thing over and over and dont want to get a S22 or similar (My SO has the S22 Ultra and it feels like my Note 20)

So here is the question. Do I take the plunge and jump ship to Apple or should I stick it our with Samsung and Android

Please let me know the pro / cons and help me decide

So the new phones are pretty much the same as what you currently have. Then why "upgrade" at all? Just go on pay as you go and save heaps of money?
