Android vs iOS – The winner is clear

The latest figures from NetMarketShare show that iOS, Android 6.0, and Android 5.0 are the most popular mobile operating systems in the world.
Also due to the availability of cheaper Android devices.

MyBB has one almost decent article about dodgy TV's, and now they're back to this kinda tripe.

lol

iPad OS and iPhone OS, there is fragmentation.
iPad 1 is on 5.1.1 (though it's probably a really small minority that is still using it)
iPad 2 is on 9, which should be at least a couple of percent of the market.

This is from Wiki though:

So ~19% of the market is on the latest iOS (in total percentage of market), which puts it behind Android 6.0.
I also see a lot of older iPhones around that are not on iOS 10.

EDIT: I'm posting this as iPhone OS and iPad OS are lumped as a whole in the break-down when Android is being broken down by version and not as Tablet/Phone.

The winner is clear: Apple

They're making all the profit, so they win.

Moral of the story: all that matters is marketing

It's very obvious that Androids share will be more than iOS. Why not rather do a rating than market share ;)

Correct. Apple is known to have the highest profit margin on any product. However, with the new Galaxy S8 pricing I am thinking that Samsung is following Apple's strategy.

Well, I prefer Android!

... but all that proves is that I'm a cheapskate :p

And yet some Android phones are more expensive than Apple, lol.
It's a preference thing once you get into the higher priced market, ads/image have a lot to do with it.

And the looser is still the consumer......amaright?
Because, if you buy cheap, you get what what you pay for and if you want good, you pay through your teeth :erm:

I dont think it paints an accurate picture, sure there are more android devices, if you want a decent smartphone but dont want to pay a fortune then android is your only option.
It would be interesting to see if all phones/OS cost the same which would be on top.

Apple still taking home ~98% of smartphone profits, so it's hard to see how the clear winner is anyone but iOS.
