Android Wear - Who has one?

I'm seriously considering getting an android wear watch. Don't know if I should wait for the new watches next year, or splurge on one now.

Was wondering if anyone here has one, and how they are finding it.

o, and i silly question - will any wear watch work with any manufacturer's phone. Obviously there are other limitations like android 4.3 etc etc, but just mostly wondering about the manufucturer limitation. For example, will a Moto 360 work with a Samsung S5 or Note 4?

Any Wear watch will work on any phone, yes.

I would suggest that just based on reviews there isn't one Wear watch that stands out yet. That's mainly a hardware thing but they all seem to have limitations that I can't get past. The G Watch R is the one I like best at the moment. The 360 has some major flaws. I actually just got a 7gen iPod Nano as a gift from my mum to offload my audio listening from my phone which is awesome and tiny but now I'm wishing it had better connectivity to my real phone.

I'm actually considering the LG G Watch R. Watched some reviews and I like it... a lot.

Had the first Gear - waste of money will never get anything similar again. No point having a watch that needs to be charged daily

I didn't mind that aspect but the clunkiness and general ugliness of the Gear2 put me off it. It felt uncomfortable and it was just laggy and plastic.

I have my eyes set on the Sony Smartwatch 3 (SWR50). Looks to me like the best watch of them all.

I think that the Asus Zenwatch may be the best of the current generation, but I'm waiting for generation 2 of these things before I start looking. Missing features like built-in GPS (only that ugly Sony Smartwatch 3 has it) makes them a no-go for me at present.

So basically no one here has any experience hands on with a Google Wear watch...

I actually like the design. I prefer simple sportish looking watches. Don't like the ones that try to look like traditional time-pieces and try to be too classy. I want a watch that looks like my smartphone. Just a screen with plain black borders and straps.

The Smartwatch 3's design is very basic, but to me, a watch needs to have an aesthetic pleasure about it. I do wear it for more than just the time.

I get that. Our preferences are different. I prefer the simple and basic. That is more aesthetically pleasing to me. Over and above that, a smartwatch is all about functionality. I don't need it to tell me the time. That is just a tiny function I would use. I need the smarts, and I need it to work well. So far the Smartwatch 3 is the only watch that ticks all my boxes.

So basically still no one with Wear watch...

Zen watch looks like an old man's watch.
Sony looks a little too plain for me (looks almost exactly like my gear 2)
Mote 360 is nice, but flawed.
LG G Watch R looks like the best at this point.

That's fair. If the band options were a bit different and less sporty-inclined, I'd really like it. It is the most functional of the current generation.

Am I right to awesome the only difference between the smartwatch 3 and the G Watch R is the GPS in the SW3?

I had a look at both the LG and Moto 360. The Moto 360 seems to be the best one of the two imo, but in the end I went with the Gear S. It's a huge improvement over the original Gear and doubles up as a standalone phone.

Did you look at the G Watch? Or the G Watch R? Two completely different models. 360 is definitely not better than the GWR
