Was just browsing through since i was there checking up on this clearly lack of security it says:
Now what if you don't want a children's machine member because according to the above, and by filling the form out, one is clearly acknowledging and accepting it.

I just read thru this dude's replies and I have to say..... He's dumb as ****.
1. He sells a product and claim it has supernatural abillities
2. People that know what they're talking about asks him about this and he doesn't comment.
3. He's more than willing to discuss location ect. but can not give back-ups to his claims.

/News just in: - After an extensive investigation, it has been determined that 50000 Wireless Access points, Installed in the Bedfordview area by a Wifi company claiming to have supernatural powers was the main cause for the recent power issues in the area. An Eskom spokesman has explained that when all of these units were powered on simultaneously, the load was just too great!

Also, it may be necessary to have water over WiFi too!
But I do think this mesh can be awesome - imagine, each "router" has a little solar panel - and this panel sends all surplus energy through the "mesh" to Areas With Power Outages (AWPOs). We *can* make a difference!

Hi, it's me, double posting again!
The market is so ready for a good off-the-shelf meshing device. If you truly have the product we are looking for, and you play your cards right, you could have the killer-app for WISPS. (As opposed to the wisp-killer app
Have you read what Fon is doing? Getting ISP's to bundle 'free hotspots' with their packages. Of course, with limited bandwidth, thats not going to fly in SA. But geez... so many possibilities, such perfect hardware. Yet so much room for improvement in the drivers and networking protocols! Not to mention the business models... and lack of largely useful content. (Freeze me in a time capsule!)
As the two post above feature very good questions (all o them), I am going to break my own rule not to answer posters who made idiotic or offensive comments in the past and going to provide answers just this one time...
Yes, like Meraki, we use the same MIT developed routing protocol, but ours is modified somehow to serve our purpose better.
No, we are not going to sell our hardware to others. Thinking about this last statement of mine, let me share my thoughts on this with you - we COULD consider selling our routers and APs to others on the condition that the mesh units are used in unmodified, legal configuration from only, that means 20db EIRP, but knowing the pirate nature of the WUGs, we think that they will break the EULA as soon as they get their hands on our equipment and that could possibly get them in trouble with the law - so no, we would not want to drive anyone to break the law, so firmly no, we are not going to sell our equipment to others to use as they please... And if you are asking about the extender AP that we are going to sell to the end user - that's just an AP with an PPoE-over-radio interface - not that fancy - it is used to provide connectivity to the users located in the periphery of a mesh or at poorly covered locations - that's just a simple AP running legal EIRP, nothing fancy...
Our routing protocol uses the signal strength and the SNR as metrics to determine the best route - TCP/IP throughput is not used as routing metric.
Our firmware is proprietary and we do not intend releasing it into public domain - if you are looking for one - there are many publicly available free mesh routing firmware out there...
We agree with your sentiment- the limited (and relatively expensive) Internet bandwidth in SA has been the biggest growth limiting factor. That's the reason we do not use the established ISPs or Telco’s, but introduce new, fresh Internet bandwidth into the country ourselves...
We know what FON is doing... We think they are great bunch of guys. Unfortunately, we don't think their business model would work here in SA.

I see, we may have expressed ourselves poorly on that form. Than you for pointing that out to me. I will make sure that the typos are rectified ASAP.
Just an update on the pricing - we have been considering this for a while now - and I am pleased to release this info first on this forum - we are going to drop the OLPC price to ZERO - that's right - we will provide all OLPC kids with unlimited free Internet access with no limitations whatsoever. In addition, we are considering to offer all SA schools completely free internet access, again with no limitations whatsoever...

Iliyan, but what you really mean is that you will selectively answer questions - the ones that u think you have the answers for, and avoid all of the questions that you cannot, or won't answer! You are using a feeble excuse of not answering questions from posters who have made idiotic, or offensive comments, yet you have managed to avoid almost every single "polite" and genuine question posted!
Does anyone see a pattern here? We all post, day after day - with our questions - Then Iliyan reads each of these every day, and waits until he finds one he can answer with his "marketing speak" - Then we all reply to his latest post, and then he spends a couple of days reading all the posts, until he finds one that he can answer again!

The form that you are referring to does not contain any sensitive data - it is empty. If you read through it, you will see that we describe the send mechanism that we use as one that relies on the user’s own send-mail agent to process the form as an ordinary e-mail. If the user requires that the e-mail content to be secured, we would expect that he would have pre-emptively installed some sort of security or encryption on his send-mail agent and provided us with the key - be it public or secret. Un-secured e-mails are sent daily all over the world and majority of the people who do so are not paranoiac so to encrypt every e-mail they send. This e-mail form is not different to those plain e-mails. We believe, no security is required.
