Another Account hacked

Info back from one of the support guys. The reason for the Forum Ban was because a key logger was posted on the site. Not cared about the forum ban to be honest.

Semaphore, you really do have a sick sense of humor. Do you really think comments like that are funny to somebody who has lost a child.
 
@Kalvaer if you have the g15 assign your password to a makro. I think that bypasses keyloggers, but im not 100% sure. I had a g15(RIP) and never had a problem with account hacking.

@Semaphore that baby comment was so uncalled for.

Well i never asked you about your child, so perhaps you should keep that type information and personal stuff in the threads not related to gaming and world of warcraft. Just proving a point. I am impervious to guilt trips.

i have no idea what you mean about forum ban and key logger on site, a forum ban is a banning of your account so if its banned on the forums, im pretty sure its in game aswell.

There have been issues in the past with Trojans infecting the adds on the Curse website so that is a possible source.

I run Noscript in my firefox and I leave all scripts as defaulted to disabled.

I only enable specific scripts when and if I need them while browsing.

I also didn't ask for your false accusations in a thread trying to find out more information. You might be impervious to guilt trips, but I hope you rot somewhere along with the hackers, you've just turned this personal. I hope you never have to go through the situation of losing a child, But if you do, for the first time in my life I think I'll laugh.

I do the same at work, Though I have been using the new IE at home along with Win 7 for the Beta to test out the system (Unless flash is required as it doesn't seem to work well at all, unless in compatability mode), So that could be something to look at. Always hoped my firewalls were secure enough to stop that though

oh noes.. *cries* you insulted me. You have a key logger or trojan, which your uber virus scanner did not pick up. Simple. Or you have FLASH which is not updated and it used an exploit to get the details. Format, reinstall. Rinse and repeat.

Are you running the game on xp or 7?
 
Now Now Boys we are discussing World of Warcraft for those who havent noticed this is not a fighting ring. I have saved the word document among about 700 other word documents and to think of where it could be is really difficult unless they can get into your copy and paste utility or function it bypasses keyloggers cause u arent typing anything in
 
Another possibility is macro's within emails, macro viruses..

Or perhaps you have a tampered exe some where with a backdoor hook
 
I think the mistake I made was that I went into a link in my email to change my password and didnt realize its not secure think its called Phising stand to be corrected and entered my username and password stupid but it happens

I said I think lol not exactly sure but did pick up a keylogger on my system as well. I am extremly paranoid about security.
 
dont EVER go to a website that asks for login details from an email address LIKE EVER, rather go directly to the site and take the long ass route to get into the login page..
 
Just 1 of those things been in the game way 2 long to know that by now like I said not sure how they got but got everything back so not a issue anymore.
 
well you are one of the lucky ones, my friend lost 60k gold lol, and they didnt give it back.
