This is the situation developing at my workplace. I work with the person who has made the calls and at this point I fear for Afrihost's safety. I invite old Gian to personally listen to these recordings and try resolve the situation.

I have pulled the recordings off our PABX and bleeped out my colleague's name and any contact numbers. Other than that, nothing else has been changed on the clips.

PG18L on the last clip.
<mod note: recording removed pending legality of recording and publishing it without the other party's knowledge or approval>

There has been follow up phone calls from Afrihost to his cellphone that I can not pull but they would be able to pull those from their side. To date, the situation has not been resolved.

You realise Arihost is a company and not a person...?

How can a company's safety be in danger?

Listening to the one call sounds like a Telkom problem and not an Afrihost problem.

Very disappointed that you took the time to bleep out your colleagues name but not the name of the person on the phone and the names that he mentioned. Really uncool.

Ultimately to put this in a public space without either party's consent is also highly questionable. We'd really prefer that you removed them - would be the right thing to do :(

You take this position because you have something to hide.

Your guy calling sounds like he had a hearing problem.

I advise you to get legal advice before publishing that recording via any social media or public platform.

Well; I know that at least on of those files was downloaded...

I think your edit just saved them from a lawsuit... or... did it?

I have reason OP is the person making the call because on the phone de does claim to put this recoding on social media.

Also that one guy in the recording <name classified> is such a chill down to earth oke, would love him to talk to me when i have a fault.

Nope I am not the person making the call. You can hear me in the background of one of the calls towards the end.

And yes Necropolis, I am aware its a business... Its just a manner of speaking revering to the point that my colleague (lets call him X from now on) is at the point of going Nuclear.

I also agree with Rickster's statement about the conduct of the parties involved. Afrihost's representatives are mostly very professional except for not getting back to X. And X's conduct in the matter was not the greatest.

As for Afriman... I will take it down if you resolve the issue. Fair enough, the names of your employees could have been bleeped... but the recording doesn't say joe soap of 53 made up lane.... Its just a first name, to help you identify and help improve the individuals involved in these calls.

At the end of the day all we want, as your customer, is the services that we are paying for.

As for the possible law suit, we have just published the same recordings that Afrihost makes. We haven't included any derogatory statements or anything in that light, just simply the conversation between X and Afrihost representatives.

Your guy is raging as Afrihost because Telkom hasnt come to fix it, AH cant make Telkom do sh*t, tell him to phone telkom directly on 10210 and push them, not rage at AH when telkom is at fault.

Why didnt this "network admin" use his brain and plug a phone into that line that goes into the router so he can further diagnose it himself.

It is a Fibre line that we pay Afrihost for. His rage is due to the fact that AH's logging system does not update the tickets on new events/feedback and even though he was promised that he would receive feedback he was never contacted. And yes, he could contact Telkom themselves... But part of the reason why you go to someone like Afrihost is for better support, so that you do not have to deal with Telkom's top notch call center.

Well the post had its intended effect. We finally had our first telkom tech come out. And it is indeed a broken fibre line causing x's stress levels.

Afrihost manage the line and are paid for the line and make profit from the line, therefore it is there responsibility to log and escalate the faults on behalf of the customer...

Afrihost offer fibre? So me this.

He mentions a 10Meg business line and a (40meg?) VDSL line, dont see how fibre fits into that.

I am always happy to help clients, but we also realised a long time ago that protecting our team and giving them the same expectation of privacy and dignity we give our clients is essential to providing good service. If you believe that abusing them in this way on public forums is the route to improving service, we fundamentally disagree about how to foster a culture of good service.

Ultimately this is a violation of our terms of service, and it's really not the way to achieve what you're after. While the link may have been removed, I assume the recordings are still accessible to anyone who has cached or copied it, which makes it still in the public domain. This is highly unethical and I cannot condone the approach taken here.
