Anti-CNN website launched

Youtube has plenty ;)

Recommend any? I keep hearing people on here talking about this but I don't get any direct links to the offending content.

Someone who thinks CNN is biased/propaganda they must have seen content on the network they believed to be such and should have no problems giving examples.

Some that I remember have been deleted already but this site(not a very balanced source) documented McCain's gaffe spin.

CNN has been the subject of some controversies. These refer to both the domestic version of CNN and CNN International. The network has come under criticism by liberals claiming it has a conservative bias, as well as by conservatives claiming it has a liberal bias.

lolz, sounds like myadsl!

No offence ratman, but I had a look at that link, and with a publication that has thousands of journalists world wide (ie, lots of opinion)... that is seriously not that bad a track record. In fact, most of the data there is pretty petty.

[edit] Eason Jordan

[edit] Admits lobbying and minimizing atrocities
In April 2003, Eason Jordan, CNN's chief news executive, wrote an op-ed in the New York Times stating that he had lobbied the Iraqi government for 12 years in order to maintain a CNN presence in Iraq. He also admitted to withholding what would be considered newsworthy information of the government's atrocities, citing fears that releasing news would potentially endanger the lives of Iraqis working for CNN in Baghdad, some of whom had already been subject to beatings and torture. [8]

[edit] Resignation after accusations by blogger
In February 2005, Jordan resigned from CNN. The resignation came in response to controversy sparked after bloggers wrote that, at the recent World Economic Forum, Jordan had seemed to accuse the U.S. military of having purposely killed journalists. While Jordan acknowledged his remarks were not sufficiently clear, he denied that this was what he had meant to imply, saying that he had "great admiration and respect for the men and women of the U.S. armed forces."[18]

Yeah very pro U.S

Think how many news and current affair shows CNN runs every year. Thousands and thousands, and those silly opinions are the best they could come up with? I dont like CNN all that much but those "controversies" dont wash with me.

Well your head of news making accusations that soldiers were deliberately murdering journalists is very serious IMO. How can a nutter like that get to be chief news executive .

The wikipedia link?

Im not slating CNN,i just dont like em all that much.Prefer independant media.

I too enjoy Al Jazeera for the other side of the American viewpoint. I certainly give a lot more perspective. I always thought it was a real "radical" station but in my opinion there reporting seems unbiased to a large degree.
CNN on the other hand seems to push the American ideal everywhere.....It reminds me of ESPN pushing Baseball and American Football every ten minutes on their station.....hell there is a whole world out there.

Could you please explain what "the American ideal" is and how CNN push it?

I agree, I personally watch CNN mostly :o because I prefer their election coverage, but still prefer Al Jazeera as a news source... they are willing to air both points of view more often unlike western media.

I think some people here are confusing American based with American biased :o

"The Chinese nation, peace-loving, refined and cultivated, has long swallowed humiliation and submitted to insults. It can no longer be a silent lamb"

Quite strong words ... is this the true China we start to see? Indeed anti-Western, not the harmless emerging superpower we all blindly hoped for? China is quietly, passively biding its time until it grows strong enough, then times will get more interesting. They are very 'nationalistic'.

To those knee-jerk anti-Americans, I know it's popular and funny to be anti-American and throw in the knowing winks etc., but seriously, have you actually looked at the alternatives in this world ... I'll take America any day. Its mainstream media may be comparatively biased, but is still nowhere NEAR the insane amounts of control and propaganda you see in places like China or the Middle East or even here, and overall its media is extremely diverse, free and thriving. If you only look at Fox and CNN then sure you'll get an unbalanced picture, but there are THOUSANDS of media outlets and TV channels and websites etc. devoted to just about every single viewpoint you can possibly imagine. All free to say what they want. Not government-controlled. And you can basically say what you want, even call Bush a chimp on a public forum or totally trash the majority religion, without disappearing the next night or getting shot.

I don't take sides, I'm Anti-American this does not mean that I support any other regime.

The US is responsible for many atrocities going back nearly a century and their propaganda has brainwashed the ignorant.

Then I hope you have the exact same amount of anger and dislike for the Russians and Chinese ... who are responsible for even more death (by supplying Africa with weapons for its civil wars.. and who have much more disgusting human right records).. than America...

Yes, that's what I meant with my previous post(although more disgusting is debatable they are nearly equal)

The reason why there is still freedom of speech in the West is because of people who are critical of the government and do not become complacent, because when you do... say goodbye to your freedoms.

Still waiting for proof that CNN is pro U.S . :o

Of course it's Pro-US it wont be Anti-US now would it, it's the unbalanced bias, pushing the military agenda for e.g. that is the problem.

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, watch "The Daily Show with John Stewart" for proof.
