ICASA - first complain to the the service provider - and that involves like ALL the levels of the service provider, before you come running to us. Just see this thread.

Well chaps let me say this.

We complain bitch and rave, open hate websites (hellcom, hell burst etc etc) and nothing happens.

So only one solution u don't like the service LEAVE drop out. Hell don't even connect to the internet, there surely must be other means of entertainment.

Some cultural hip imposes on us to be connected this and broadband that and everyone talks about youtube facebook and gmail blah blah..

Quit and leave! Those EVIL corporate blood suckers will eventually die off, don't give them pleasure of engaging in a complaint just do johnny walker on em.

Just a quote from the vent

Ok im not defending iBurst... hell I dont even use them but i just thought it was funny how people find idiotic and unreasonable ways to complain.

Iburst now up to x3 faster then 3G....

...iburst claims to have "hair-raising iBurst speeds and up to 3 times faster speeds than 3G"...

... having had a 3G card my real downloads speeds reached 1300 kb/s therefore even if iburst's advertised speed of 1mb/s is correct and constant such a statement is a pure lie or do they now offer a 5.4mb/s speed conenction thats 3 times faster then 3G? mmm i wonder....

Clearly some people STILL to this day (since 3G tech has been out for a looooong time ) think that 3G IS HSDPA.

[Wonder].... 384kbps ( or around their which is real 3G speed ) x 3 = Just over 1.1Mbps. so therfore their statement that their speeds is ( or better yet roughly ) 3x faster than 3G is true [wondering over]. Whether they can, in reality, achieve those speeds is a whole different story.

rofl read the bit at the bottom of there news post iburst does..

link takening from commment on hellburst.co.za
http://www.iburst.co.za/default.aspx?link=new_latest_news&blogs=35

copied straight from the news arictle above..

"Type in "broadband provider of the year" into Google.co.za’s search window and you’ll see that the top result will be iBurst. iBurst is your gateway to Google, Wikipedia, Amazon.com and many more Internet resources. Over 40 000 South African’s can already attest that as an Internet Service Provider, with iBurst “service” is the operative word. "

i c it only 8th due to the words being used in there article.. does not mean u the top.
and if u do south africa only they first due to the words being used in the artilce

retards . better watch out soon this post will be number one in the google search. So what does the make myadsl.co.za??? the Broadband Provider of the year???

Instead of dedicating resources to monitoring and responding to comments made on websites of this nature, we'd rather invite all subscribers to submit their queries via the appropriate iBurst support channels.

Ah, yes. So that you can get the following when you e-mail them using their very own SMTP server...

The following message to <accounts@iburstgroup.co.za> was undeliverable.

The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'5.5.0 Spam rejected.

Submitting mail using using their contact form does no better since it seems to vanish silently. :(

Is it just me that thinks iBurst SA's various responses sound a lot like what Telkodemonopolies would answer given the same questions?

I was thinking the same thing. This reminds me very much of the sort of crap Telkom was spewing about "abusers" not too many years ago:

“This is to prevent a situation where a small group of subscribers and / or applications receive a disproportionate share of the available network resources thereby negatively affecting the service provided to the majority of subscribers,” iBurst says.

Actually iBurst reaction to all the fiasco's they've been involved in during their relatively short existence has always reminded me of Telkom by their arrogance.

What iBurst doesn't seem to get is that they are not an entrenched monopoly. People do have at least some choice when it comes to wireless connectivity.

This is very weird. I tried opening it with IE & Firefox and get a "Server not found" response. Every other Website opens perfectly.

Nope! :D

ADSL through SAIX. I can ping the IP 67.18.4.2, but opening that IP in a browser brings up an Apache Server site. Maybe DNS got screwed up somewhere...

Can anybody else verify that it is working?

It sucks indeed, the argument still remains if you paid for 3gigs and a 512 line you have the right to use that line to it's fullest capacity.

Hi

The site has moved to a new server. At the time you did the request the DNS could still have been down.
But its working now.

OH REALLY? and everytime I phone about my iburst not able to connect why the FEK do I get "HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR MTU?" for goodness sakes my iburst has been working for the last couple months until today and now it's my MTU? what kind of right channels do you call that? what about the "OH YOU OWE US Rxxxx amount because our IT dept charged you to buy an extra 1gig bandwidth due to our COD issue"

heaven forbid that I should critisize a good cause, but if this site is a new public service and there to help current customers, isn't it just a tad to early to plug in adsense and a classifieds section.

I was under the impression that you first help people and then make them pay?

My thoughts exactly after checking the site now:rolleyes:
