Any way to stop ants from using my Telkom line coming from the telephone pole?

Is it possible to construct a barrier on the line somehow? Or?

I did trim the tree branches that were touching the line, hoping that would help by reducing points of contact. But the ants are still using my line as a superhighway.

Once my line had issues and a Telkom tech found an ant nest in the junction box on the pole.

LOL

They're incredible little critters - especially at this time of the year ;)

I would spray some pesticide onto the cable at both sides - at the pole and at the terminating point at your house.

As an alternative to spraying (not effective) I would wipe the cables with the pesticide.

If you upgrade your line to VDSL the higher frequencies will stop the ants from using your line

Using your line? Phreaking freeloading thieving ants! :D

On a serious note though, there is a chalk based ant deterrent you could source and try

What about going up on a ladder and putting a thick grease on the last few meters of the cable? It might discourage the ants.
